"It’s not, in the end, fair to compare Battlebots and Robot Wars in their 2000 incarnations, since it’s obvious that four years of network exposure will lead to more interest and entries than a rookie show on a cable channel. There have been a couple of attempts before to pit British and American robots against each other, and the lack of American experience has been obvious. However, before we get too cocky, perhaps we should remember how we used to regularly win the Ryder Cup too… I’ve no doubt that the Americans’ day will come.

The devil's in the details.  The guy was comparing Series 4 of Robot Wars to Season 1.0 of Battlebots  - the erstwhile most recent things from their respective countries.  I'm going to gander that the PPV and underground US RW competitions weren't available for viewing at the time in England.  So it IS fair to say that at the time, Battlebots was the "rookie" show.  Even if you include untelevised battlebots competitions, that still comes out to 3 competitions over 2 years against Robot Wars' 4 series over 4 years.  Also remember that the only UK vs US occurence was that crappy bot Prometheus from the 1st world championship

What I found funny was that he apparently had knowledge of that fact that RW had started in the US 6 years earlier, and yet he made it sound like the Americans where just starting to get interested in something that they had already perfected first. That, and the fact that most of the robots that ended up winning championships at the first few BB competitions either had competed in the US Robot Wars or were built by those that had.

Well, Mangulator wasn't that bad, Rammstein was good enough (Except for that blunder regarding how much battery power it had), and Frenzy was actually pretty good- Ghetto-Bot was the only really bad one there I thought, along with Detonator.

Tazbot was pretty good. I know it beat the sh** out of Razer at one of the 99 Battlebots events.
