I have a reply to the topic of Robot Wars fans vs. Battlebots fans that I will type and reply with later...

I pretty much had a ****ing essay written and hit the wrong button on this damn phone and lost every bit of it...

Sparkey and I talk about that a lot.

Battlebots is a competition, while Robot wars is a game show.

I only saw the US 'dub' of the fourth wars, Extreme Warriors, Nickelodeon Robot Wars, Battlebots, and Robotica.

It's a shame you can't find that much footage of robotica online. It was such a great show!

I just feel like that RW had more of a bias to it, especially with the house robots (which were mostly there for show). Do you recall any unfair decisions in battlebots?

Ah, but were there any bits in Battlebots that focussed on the technical aspects of the robots themselves, rather than on Carmen Electra's rack?

Christian Carlberg had segments showing the inner workings of a sample bot.

That is true. One of many bad things in BattleBots was they spent too much time on crap that didn't matter and too little time on the robots themselves.

uh yeah but that stuff is just stupid filler that nobody cares about i came to watch robots demolish each other not the stupid specs that take twelve hours to complete that no one pays any attention to anyway because it's sleep therapy but more boring.

There was that, but even then, from the Battlebots episodes I've watched, it seemed to have more of a focus on the showmanship and wacky backstories of the robot builders rather than on the robots themselves, and particularly with the last season, Carmen Electra. Seriously, there'd only be three battles per episode, whilst Robot Wars usually had about eight, and Electra was even worse than Jayne Middlemiss.

On the other hand, Robot Wars had the interesting technical stuff, particularly within the Series 2-5 era, where the roboteers themselves lifted the lids on the robots, rather than having Bill Nye (I think) cutting away from the battle to state the obvious. They had more fights too, so overall, it had more of a focus on the robots themselves- one of the things that for me, makes engineering cool for its viewers.

Round about I'm guessing, but I think I've grown a little since then.

rw < battlebots and i grew up watching robot wars

also rw was rigged as sh** and and had mainly weak ass flippers and 9/10 kos was by some component burning out or some claw slowly peircing another bot SLOWLY, battle bots actually has carnage on a regular basis
How you make Alarm Clock Pizza is:
Step 1: You buy an alarm clock from the store, and then you have to break it and put it in the sauce.
Step 2: Fold the sauce in 5 slices and put it in the dough.
Step 3: Paint the eggs with a pitcher of a clock showing what time you want to wake up and eat pizza for breakfast.
Step 4: Put the eggs in the dough.
Step 5: Make it flat into a round shape and draw the time you want on it.
Step 6: Put some old steel to prevent other peple from stealing it.
Step 7: Make it flat and cut into 60 slices 1 for each minute in 1 our.
Step 8: Put in the oven set the timer to 30048813.2884 seconds and put the temperature on 'Volcano' setting.
Step 9: If you think it is take to long, then get yor alarm clock and set it to now so that it will ring and you can take it out.
Step 10: Take it out uv the uvin wen it is redy and go to bed. In the morning eat pizza and also eat yor hands bi mistake.

They also had segments on the builders themselves. On one tape I have, they talked about how Andy Sauro bought "Slap 'Em Silly" online. I found one about Carlo Bertocchini's "suit" he made for his cat on Team Nightmare's website.
