I really don't understand him either...

Why does he do random rep-ups when people make record-player and brick-phone bots?

Should I go and make a fridge to get my rep back to 0 or something? =P

I basically have three reasons to give or take rep

1. Contribution to the forum: Bots, Tourneys, mods, ect
2. Behavior: good or bad, constructive/destructive, ect
3. I or someone else reps someone down out of spite or for a wrong reason, I will put the rep back

It's hard to really decide to change rep in most cases, unless I see something sticking out that makes me think I should. Such as today when I changed Kurt's rep. He seemed to have stopped Noob'ing, won BOTM, and built a cool record player bot. He has matured a lot and the -3 rep didn't seem right. I rep'ed him up and put the record player bot in as the reason because it was the thing I was looking at when I decided to rep him up.

And if you do not believe that I only rep people down, take a look at my rep stats...



It's +62 and -62 and `10-15 of the rep-down actions were to Hardbot, Sparkey and Garvin so it's not like I'm being stingy or unfair with said rep.

When I got -2, I admit, I was being an asshole. I stopped being an asshole, made some positive contributions nad never got one rep up. That wasn't a problem to me.

What was a problem to me though, is how one post (which wasn't exactly that bad) automatically gets me -3 and now I'm even worse than I was when I was an asshole.

Perhaps being an asshole will get my rep back up, I don't know.

Vertigo shouldn't be able to change rep, IMO. He rates people down for no reason, which sometimes makes them annoyed, leading to a situation like this.

Whining about rep will only lead to rep downs, from what I have seen. I keep forgetting about the rep system until somebody mentions it, or I glance at the left hand side of my screen. But I don't really think it matters that much, it really only seems to lead to bitching and arguments...not seen any gloating yet...and I still find it odd that I am on +2, but there we go. I do think that the rep system is a quick and easy way to troll people who are affected by the little number underneath their post count.
