Although if you were born late in the year as I was, then you could go to a college after your Standard Grades and study an NC or NQ, whilst still being 16. If you chose to go down that road.
 
Also, age has no direct bearing on maturity, intellect or morality. We've seen this with Scourge, she is quite mature for only 13, as is Vertigo (I think he's still 13), whereas some members who claim to be older, I won't name names, act somewhat whiny when they don't get their own way. Age only determines how soon you should die.
