Radioactivity cant be smelled or seen or anything, Thats why its so dangerous...
Without a Gaeger counter (I probz typoed it) you pretty much dont know if youre swimming in radioactive water :P

Seriously, though, it's far below a dangerous level, so I don't see why people are suddenly running around in a blind panic. It's not as if they'll suddenly sprout extra limbs and become allergic to oxygen. If California got nuked, then they'd be in trouble. Japan is the nation that's really in the sh_t, and I'm just hoping that they can manage to sort themselves out after it.
