lol there's a real robot builder here who has actually competed, and he doesn't even have the bot builder title. Also you better watch out or he might rep you down.

theres a few actually, but most of them were around before the title was put in

but yeah acams will give just about anyone the title if they ask pretty-please. iirc theres only been 1 person turned down out of idk maybe 6-7 now ?? 1 had literally a block of wood on wheels and another had the aforementioned wheelchair (which he plans to strap a damn etek to and watch it die i mean really ffs use your head man)

Yeah, I feel that way sometimes, too.
I'll be honest with you- if I could get into building robots (as at the moment, I don't have the funds, nor do I have the knowledge on electronics and stuff), I wouldn't go into it half-arsed like I've seen some on here do...I mean, with wooden frames theoratically supporting Eteks and all.

I'd want to take my time and make my robots as good as they can be. In other words, go into it fully-arsed.

and as far as Conraaas block of wood goes wood works out OK in the UK from what I've heard since there are less spinners and what not.
