Cool car.

Your 850cc engine is about 30-35 hp, right? How much would replacement parts/repairs be? Because an electric conversion would be about $2,500. A perm 132 (34 horse power motor) is about $1000 and lipo batteries would be another thousand if you get them from the right place.

We're trying to get it to standard, chich so far has cost about £150, and the car cost £500. It was quite a bargain, I must admit. Once that's done, then I think we will use standard bolt-ons:
- Pancake Air Filters
- Alternator conversion
- Spark kit (Plugs, distributor, etc.)
- Radiator conversion to the front
- Interior luxuries (CD player, etc.)
- etc.
EDIT: It's actually got a beasty 39 bhp!

Why no side mirrors? Is that common for those cars?

Yes, it is. People then buy side mirrors and bolt them either onto the door, next to the quarterlight, or on the side wings either side of the bonnet. I'm gonna put mine on the door, I think. That way, I can ope the window and alter the mirror's angle.

IRW, what car is that? it looks so familiar in Historic Rallies...

The front reminds me of Isuzu Bellet, but the back reminds Trabant...

You're right about it being in rallies, although they used the 9-hundred cc engines, so more power. The Hillman variants were good in rallies - RR drive, light and small.

The minis were smaller and cheaper, but not by enough to make it better VFM.

Well, hopefully I will not need to get a new vehicle. But if I do, I am hoping for something oldish and made of steel. Maybe another truck or a van.

Truck is largely fine. A couple of the belts snapped is all.
