Take pictures in Windows Media Player?

Whenever I try to take a shapshot in Windows Media Player, I paste it into Paint and then it goes blank as soon as I close WMP.  Also, if I try to drag the image around, the border moves but the picture itself stays in place.  I've tried unticking the "overlay" box like the tutorials recommend, and I've tried the CTRL-I, but neither has worked.

Does anyone know anything else I could do?

Anyone know anything about DOS? I'm sure there's a way to do it by using the command line. In OS X, the DVD player won't allow screen grabs to be taken. To get around that, all it takes is a little bit of typing in the Terminal. There's gotta be something similar for Windows.

oh yes I remember the weirdness of that, if u pasted it in and left the player on it would have a video in ms paint =D

I suggest setting that thing to be your default for all video codecs. It's a mighty fine media player.

yeah I had VLC or some paid program that came with my computer to take my screen shots, WMP doesnt do if for some reason.
