Is this a good buy?
« on: April 30, 2014, 11:18:54 PM »
I was looking for >500$ laptops for general usage, and this was one of the cheapest laptops I could find with a 100$ sale. Most of the things I've heard about ASUS laptops online were good, but a couple people I know IRL said they were bad. Is this a good deal?

I can tell you from personal experience that 1.8 GhZ will struggle to play modern games, or do RA2 and Netflix at the same time.

What exactly do you need it to do?

Does it absolutely have to be portable?  If no, consider getting a desktop PC, you get much more bang for your buck.  The accessories you'll need are a monitor and USB wireless adapter, which will run you about $100 and $30 respectively.  I found this, someone else will have to weigh in, but it looks legit:

From my own experience I can safely say that they have no customer support system whatsoever

Looks nice to me, lets see here, $649.95/1.71 = £380.08, I think you could get it for a better price however

No, I don't find those sites very reliable for buying things like this.

Windows 8, thats why
Question: Have you ever actually used Windows 8 before, since most the people that diehard hate it seemed to have never used it before.

I use it too, it's exactly the same as all the other ones other than the fact it doesn't have the start menu or w/e it's called, but I never used that so it doesn't affect me at all.
