Title: Is this a good buy?
Post by: helloface on April 30, 2014, 11:18:54 PM: I was looking for >500$ laptops for general usage, and this was one of the cheapest laptops I could find with a 100$ sale. Most of the things I've heard about ASUS laptops online were good, but a couple people I know IRL said they were bad. Is this a good deal?

you want at an i5 with about 2.3ghz with 8 gigs of ram. at minimum an i3.

Does it absolutely have to be portable? If no, consider getting a desktop PC, you get much more bang for your buck. The accessories you'll need are a monitor and USB wireless adapter, which will run you about $100 and $30 respectively. I found this, someone else will have to weigh in, but it looks legit:

From my own experience I can safely say that they have no customer support system whatsoever

All of the prices for laptops are bad around here.

Ive been using a windows 8 laptop since my last hard drive failure, its awful

I use it too, it's exactly the same as all the other ones other than the fact it doesn't have the start menu or w/e it's called, but I never used that so it doesn't affect me at all.

Intel graphics. For that price, you better be getting something better than Intel.
