help in windows movie maker (really angry)

Ok, so I have movie maker. It won't let me do anything other than open the app. I can't import anything into it at all.

If there isn't any help for this can someone send me there's in a zip as it was free please? If anyone has version 8 please send :)

I recently found a pretty good free video editor called VideoPad, it does much more than WMM and can have multiple video/audio layers too. Wish I had it ages ago. It has like a fake trial thing like winrar but you can just ignore it indefinitely.

Does WMM crash or anything or can it just not import your file? What file type is it?

Ok thank you I'll try that. It literally does nothing apart from open.

It was just an mp4 video which have always worked in the past, dunno why they aren't anymore.

Having used both Videopad and Vegas before, I can safely say that Vegas is the better option here. It requires a little bit more learning to navigate the interface compared to Videopad, but you can do much more with it.

Obviously I can't link to a pirated copy of Vegas on the forum, but I can give you a link to google (or duckduckgo if you prefer). Have fun.

Yeah, pirating software is "illegal". But nobody really cares unless you actively try to get yourself in trouble, or if you're Kanye West and screenshot yourself using TPB like a doofus. A SWAT (most likely) isn't going to bust down your door and shoot your dog because you were making funny_meme_montage.mp4 on a pirated copy of Vegas.

also, the possibility that a pirating noob (like me) gets some severe virus that ends up screwing their computer. It's a safe bet to just go with something free when you're starting out. I'll try this videopad. I wouldn't mind making some professional-looking videos to put on YT. I already have recording software, and I already have voice recording software. I just need to use blender to make a decent intro. ( which I can do, no worries, there.)
