Could FRAPS cause a problem?

It's always a possibility, I suppose. How much RAM does your PC have?

1.00 GB

Yikes. I have heard worse, but that's pretty bad for today's standards. Windows Vista or 7 would probably require that just to run the OS.

XP, and I uninstalled FRAPS. That was not the problem.

Perhaps there is something less extreme, but I'll keep that in mind.

Something tells me it's not the hard drive, but that's just me.

Have a check to see how big certain folders are in your Program Files. Delete ones that are more than 20mb that you don't use, that's bound to help.

Okay, so I've been searching around for ways to fix this and I've tried some of them, but they still don't work. I"m thinking of just getting a new computer. Would that be better than trying to fix my current one?
