BSOD help?
« on: December 29, 2011, 09:21:57 AM »
I turned on my PC this morning and the display wouldn't show up TV. Just before I went out to buy a new lead it did, but just before the logon screen I got BSOD.

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

Stop code was:
0x00000050 (0xFFFFF880009AAFF8, 0x0000000000000000, 0xFFFFF800032C38, 0x0000000000000000)

Does anyone have a clue how to fix this? It starts fine in Safe Run mode, but restoring it to an earlier system restore point doesn't work. If it come to it, would it be possible to wipe the HDD and re-install windows?

Thanks in advance.

Usually this error fixes itself, but if it will not stop then you may need to re- install. I don't know if you can do this but one way to recover your data is to put your hard drive in another computer ( as a secondary drive ) and take all of the data off of it. Put it back in the broken computer and turn it on. put the windows install disk in and boot your computer from it and your all set

I changed a setting in the startup menu (I'm not sure what the heck it was), And now it's working fine.
