Starcore V4 Status (Last Updated 21Apr09)

Until I figure a better way I will be listing here current status, status changes, volunteers and comments:

Population Override: New Team to Review

Activating more teams as I find them in my old emails and room for additionl teams as they are good enough. If your team was not shown, please resubmit.

Basically Done means:
* The team has been upgraded to DSA armor where possible, or Plastic if no other option. * New excess weight (from converting to DSA) has been in most cased used to enhance.
* AI has been reviewed, fixed, tuned and upgraded. (Switch spinners converted to Button for AI)

It does not mean the bots can't be improved. It means I am focusing on Glaring issues first. If you want to volunteer to improve one or more bots in any team, please speak up and coordinate with me. If multiple people want to improve the same bot, the best update will be used (taking into account sticking to theme and combat effectiveness).

There are many bot updates that never got sent or possibly got lost while I was sick. If you feel I am missing something please bring it to my attention and help get a replacement sent.

As you can see, the V4 update is more done then not. With some teamwork we can get this to the level people are wanting and out the door.

Working on getting an updated V4 Alpha out the door soon...

I rebuilt Past-Present-Future.

What did you do with your attempt on rebuilding Jabberwock and Bandersnatch?

I would gladly review everything that needs be reviewed.

Would like to see your rebuilds of Past-Present-Future team when you can send them over.

I was not happy with my remakes of Jabberwock and Bandersnatch. They were probably effective enough but did not look near as cool as some of the Hammer bots I have seen floating around in the last year.

If no one is willing to send in new state-of-the-art Jabberwock and Bandersnatch updates I will dust off my earlier efforts and see what I can come up with. I have some very nice attach scemes that I just need to balance and tune. Well nice for 18 months ago.

I will be pulling together another Alpha update shortly. From there people can comment and jump in to help. Most of Scrap Daddy's comments were not of much use without additional whys this is or that was bad or could be done better (there is always better) unless someone wants to do the vague "Needs to be built"...

I just tried to rebuild Jupiter. This time it has 2 stacked Supervolts and 21 flailing spikes.

A tiny problem, though. It is quite bouncy when driving and spins a bit slower when inverted (the Z-teks and Shinies aren't heavy enough to apply enough pressure when upside-down).

It's my first attempt at replicating bots, so any comments would be appreciated. :D

[Edit] Gave up on rebuilding Black Knight and Mr. Hell. Can't frickin' stack those Supervolts. D:

apparently castle guard is already being replaced by an upgraded version of my own lw disc VS H.A.N.N.A.H.

Um, I think Tiny trinity is going to be the new Castle Guard.

If we remove one of Duster's burst motors and replace it with an anchor we'll get more weapons. Same with the BW.

Any comments on my version of Jupiter? I can rebuild it if necessary.

On the other hand, Poptart's done!

Wedge is as good as Zenith's. Angled the razors a bit forward for a bit more reach.

[Edit] And so is Borg Drone!

It's supposed to be 389.2 kg. I just added a caster at the bottom for frontal support.

[Edit Again] Might do Aedes and/or Black Bull.

Poptart would be much better with Ztek drive and 3 razors methinks.

Borg Drone should have much less ground clearance (you won't need the caster then) and be more symmetric, also try to put the wheels closer to the center of your bot.

Jupiter looks darn awesome, but the wheels should be farther from the center of the bot.

Back to the drawing board. :P

Will redo Jupiter's wheel alignment. Poptart's rebuilding might take more time though.

If both these are done, I can do Borg Drone.

[Edit] Jupiter's done! The new snapper alignment, which gave me a wider wheelbase, also saved me enough weight to put an extra pink in, not to mention it isn't bouncy and can spin as fast when upside-down. :D
