Like craaig said, it's not a bug. Just iffy design. Eruption (along with a few other flippers) actually has around 3 flippers, 2 of which are invisible. If you go into the bot lab with Eruption and press F12 to see the collision meshes of each component, you can see that it has an additional few flippers under the first one.

Eruption's traditional-looking flipper is also purely aesthetic and doesn't actually serve any actual purpose in terms of gameplay. The flipper is on a cheaty burst motor (said burst motor is probably going to be a cheatbot2 component in the upcoming expansion btw), but the chassis model and flipper model are shaped in such a way to give it a more realistic feeling than most RA2 flippers have to offer.

Oh okay that's fine, what's eruption powered by in real life? I know chaos 2 is co2 but their flipper seems equally as powerful

Eruption's flipper uses Co2 as well

Envy came 2nd to Ripper in 2011, and is also inducted in the "hall of fame". It no longer exists to my knowledge.

Shane Swan who built Envy is a really nice guy and fun to crack on with but we aren't able to include it in the mod no matter what either of us want because of reasons we can't disclose. And that's all we can say on the subject. Envy's chassis was rebuilt into the rear hinged (and overweight) Air as seen in the 2013 Robots Live Europian championship. It's now long since deceased, a new Air was built but sold on and renamed to 'Thunderchild'... I think!

What Mr AS said regarding flippers. That's the reason why the flippers are so powerful. The lower powered flippers use the same custom burst but using the maximum specs achievable in the game without ha okay occurring. So the modern flippers need multiple bursts to replicate the power appropriately.
Also it is still relatively realistic for the robots to self right after losing their flippers. They can self right in real life from firing the pneumatic ram! There's a clip of Ripper in Australia where it demonstrates this quite well.

Rhys746, All British flippers use Co2 (Unless Mentorn want to do a publicity stunt and convert a robot to Nitrogen again) Chaos 2's flipper could through robots about 1ft at most above the lip of the flipper at best. To put it in perspective to modern flippers, Iron Awe 7 flipped Toxic ( I think) 12ft in the air.
Chaos 2 isn't a scratch on modern flippers to put it bluntly and I think everyone will get a fright when they see a good hit/flip on the new show.

Great mod. Tried it this evening. Can't wait for even more BOTS and arenas!

BTW for those who have crashing issues. Try running it in compatibility mode Windows xp sp3.

So, we have another apology.
The update will be delayed another week so that we have enough time to finish the update to a really awesome standard.
Part of this is due to our new Series 7 arena not being completely done yet (Check out the cool stuff Click is talking about doing with it! Gonna be awesome)
We also remain busy with our Robot Wars application (Go like Team Immersion on Facebook!) however we keep working, and can reveal the update will include OVER 30 NEW ROBOTS.
To tide you over, here's a 2 of the featherweights you will be seeing, Beauty 8 and Hatchet 3!
We're really sorry but hopefully you can see that we're building this bigger and better for you guys in what spare time we have!

Ohh wow those 2 are awesome especially the new beauty :) take all the time in the world to release the expansion we can wait, still huge hype for this release. Also allows ya to iron out any final bugs or crashes :D
