« on: January 01, 2011, 03:40:17 PM »
123AI is finally here.

How to install

1.  Requires a clean version of DSL.
2.  Delete the folder AI and Music
3.  Unzip 123AI into DSL directory.  Overwrite any file when ask to do so.

Patch v1.0b

Include 2 fixes and an update on Urjak's Circle of Thorn.

Including, 13 teams build by me
1 team from each of the four guest builders.

Pwnator - HS
Ounce - Pusher
Naryar - Popup 2
Urjak- SS

Bonus Bot from DSL2 - WreckTangle2

Is this meant to be Starcore  for DSL?

No. It's just an AI pack.

So this would be like the best picks of NAR AI?

A CHALLENGER APPEARS

...nah, like it'll be a challenge. :P I'm too lazy to make any AI pack at the moment and 123 is better than me.

So this is basically like a modless NAR AI, not only good, but top notch ?

That sounds like a good idea.

Now stupid question timeTM

Would this contain just your bots or other members bots?

Would this be ballanced to NAR AI components or DSL?

Will this be updated as bot building gets better or will this be a one and done AI pack?

Unless all bots are made by you, this sounds very similar to NAR AI, and as important as packs like NAR AI are, we only need one of them

But what happens when the creator of NAR AI is too lazy to make anything else and should really be moving with it's life instead of posting on this forum ?

Ah, NAR AI will most probably be outdated by next year...

This is therefore exactly what is needed, in about 6 months...

No, Nary's only releasing one more version of NAR AI

Since this will most probably turn into the key DSL mod, I will also be happy to contribute :D

I was thinking more of a showcase in bot type than anything.  So instead of searching for a VS, you can just open up team "Vertical Spinner".

I don't know about it being top notch, I don't really have that in mind.

I intended to build all of the teams.  I am not sure how to include community contribution without ending up with many many overlaps.

This is not intended to be a replacement of NAR AI in any way.  In fact, I will send all the bots here to NAR AI.

Well, even if you intend to build all the bots yourself, doesn't mean we can't give you some inspiration if you need it.

I take it all the bots will be fairly unique? (given that it is you :P)

123's making an AI pack!  :gawe:
What a lovely belated christmas present!

And Cory, it's completely unrelated to this whether or not Nar stays on here, I don't think he will go though, and I highly doubt it would be a sudden stop dead posting thing like you seem to think it would be

You see the thing is I am much more lazy than Naryar, so there's no way I will take on something as ambitious as he did.  Community mod is a lot of work, and I am the last person you would want to take over that.

I do hope someone will take over NAR AI if Naryar decided to stop working on it.  Of course, it will be best if he sticks around to do it himself.

I do like this idea about each team being a specific bot type. It would save a heck of a lot of time, I reckon.

Given your standard of building, I'm guessing most of the bots will be either very original, or very tricky to beat. If you need help with some stuff, I'd be happy to help out as well.

given NarAI became NarAI and no longer DSL 2.1 I wouldnt say the two conflict

besides people can make whatever they want

shame your feeling over all this Nary... I can say I know how you feel.. CCIV is the only thing keeping my going right now.. not in much mood to do anything else with this game.

let me know if you want any help 123...
