fullscreen promblem

So I'm trying to play the game on my laptop, and there's a weird issue when I fullscreen.  There are two black bars on either side of the monitor, with the game squished between them.  I tried to get a screenshot, but in the screenshot the black bars were not visible.  This happens with both Stock and Ironforge (haven't downloaded DSL yet to test.)  This didn't happen when I played the game on my other computermachine.  Any idea what's going on?

Is the computer with the issue running Windows 10? I've noticed 10 doesn't stretch the game and has those bars running down the side to keep the aspect ratio.

No, it's Windows 7.  Sorry, should have mentioned.

I'm sure if you force the game to run at your native resolution the bars should disappear.
Open up ra2.cfg and change the display width/height to your native res. :)

Okay, that worked to fullscreen it, but now everything seems weirdly squished and too small:



Also, the mouse seems to be a lot less sensitive when in-game.

Try using some resolution combinations in the cfg that have the same aspect ratio but are smaller, you should get stuff looking bigger.

Doesn't everything get stretched when you change the resolution?

Everything I change it to just causes the game to crash on launch.  Is there some secret to it?

My screen resolution is 1600x900, by the way.

i have 1600x900 and my game looks exactly like the image above.
