Title: RA2 Tech Demo problem

OK, don't ask me why, but I wanted to try the tech demo.
The problem is that it loads the splash up for literally half a second before closing itself down. WHY???

If you look at the 'Last Modified' date of the file and set it to that it should work fine. That's how I got it running, anyway.

Oh, I didn't read that. Always my downfall.
If you look at the 'Last Modified' date of the file and set it to that it should work fine. That's how I got it running, anyway.

Quite a lot is different, yes. The way the robots handle is fairly similar (although driving feels more sluggish and weapons feel more weighty in the demo compared to the full game in my opinion), but components cannot be broken off in the tech demo. The tech demo also only includes 3 robots prebuilt, none of which are AI'd. Nightmare, Yellow Buzzard and one other robot IIRC. You control the 3 robots with 3 separate sets of keys on your keyboard.

Anybody remember their "RA1 with physics" demo that included functioning forklifts? That one was pretty rad.

RA1 physics demo huh? It's an actual thing? I've always wanted to get that working. It's clearly not just changing the game's settings in that data file, whatever it was again. Collisions are still just as clunky.
