Author Topic: HELP!..my mouse only moves horizontal in RA2 (Read 6538 times)

Hi. I was wondering if someone could help me out.
I started having a problem in robot arena, when I reach the main menu the mouse only works horizontally. It's weird, I can move my mouse around until it reaches the main menu and then it only moves in a horizontal direction. My computer only does this only when in robot arena.

Has any one else had this problem or have an idea what is wrong??

Where did you get RA2?
Have you modded it?

I got it from Sages signature, I havent modded it.
It was working fine, but just started doing it a couple of days ago.

Edit-- squirrel_monkey, no i havent tried reinstalling yet. But thanks i will try that. I havent changed anything recently.

Edit-- Hi Sonny_Resetti, I do have another mouse, I will try that too, but it's weird, it works everywhere else.

Try reinstalling (back up your bots first)
Have you changed you computer in any way recently?

It could be a hardware problem. Do you have another mouse that you can test it out with?

Oh, i forgot to say that all of my AI packs are doing it, not just stock. Like DSL2.1, Starcore3, BBeans, etc.

@Xenos: Yes, i am using XP

@Sonny_Resetti: i tried using another mouse, it did the same thing.

@Squirrel_Monkey: i can't really reinstall them because they're zips, should i just delete them and download them again? And no, i haven't changed anything on my computer that i can think of.

Then it's a Windows update that messed up your game. If you use system restore to go to a point before the update was installed your game should work.

But my system restore is off...

and my updates are set to not automatically download or install.

Redownload a new copy (don't delete the old one), EXTRACT the files. Then move your bots across.

Ah, I know this problem. The only way to get rid of it is to change the graphics card (trust me; I tried extracting it in vain, completely un-installing it in the process, so it's not the game). What graphics card do you run?

I have NVIDIA GeForce 6200 LE. but i haven't changed anything, and why would it mess up out of nowhere?

Ohaider.

Yes, i am having the same problem.
It was fine two days ago so i have no idea whut has happened to my computer.
Plus i have no idea of the stats (all i know is that it is a Toshiba Satellite Pro L300 Laptop)
My school gave it to me and i have had it almost 2 years now and hasn't had any viruses that i can remember.

I've had the same problem in the past and it just fixed itself after a while. I have no tech advise though.
