 do you mean the stock dsl components.
if so then the reason for this is that if your using a custom component that you have downloaded then your opponentmight not have it and it will crash their game if they dont so to prevent this they wont allow you to use custom components online.

Some stock DSL parts are counted as custom, there is a way of enabling custom parts for online play but I forgot how.

if you are using custom components make sure your brother has the same components as you.

also try going to options and status messages and turn it off.
that might work for getting rid of the message.

Yeah, you both have to have the same arena/components or it will crash.

He isnt crashing, he is getting the, Custom components are not allowed online, message. To allow them you ned to change a line in a file that i jsut dont remember, it was RA2.cfg or something like that. And i dont remember what line it was but you need to change the 0 to 1 on that line. I think the line was AllowCustomComponents or something similiar.

ahh
@fabo27631
open up RA2.cfg with notepad and scroll down till you see this line
AllowNonStandardMultiplayer=0
change that line to this
AllowNonStandardMultiplayer=1
and see if it works.
if it doesnt change it back.
