Bot warps out of arena?
« on: September 16, 2013, 08:01:46 PM »
Hi, I'm new here, and signed up to ask about this:
My bots that I apply anti-ballast to tend to warp out of any arena, test or otherwise, at insane velocities.

I think it has something to do with the -500kg weight I have, and them already weighing 1k kgs.

any help?

always remember to remove the antiballast once you're done working on the bot and have brought it to the appropriate weight limit, or else this will keep happening.

Well thats not quite easy...the anti-ballast is also a cold fusion reactor.

this would be much easier if I had more time, as I've over-came it once with more mass.

Well negative weights never lead to good things unless you're trying to build a SHW and above, in which case the anti-ballast is removed post-building anyway.

But if that negative weighted component is also a vital component then I can't really help you

Hmmm....
Alright then.

Also, I'd have just used the anti-ballasts in the extras tab, but there is barely enough room for wheels and the main spin motor(8 red brids)

Anti-ballasts can fit any where.

Well, I decided to make an anti-ballast zone from some ballast zone part I have.
thanks though.

also, the ones I have don't, the only one I use, -40kg is too large for this particular bot.

just make sure you dont have any anti-ballast on when you head into the arena and you should be fine.

PS in the anti-ballast's txt file (i dont know what antiballast you are using, so i cant tell what the TXT file is called) there should be a line called "mass = X", change X to whatever you need.
How you make Alarm Clock Pizza is:
Step 1: You buy an alarm clock from the store, and then you have to break it and put it in the sauce.
Step 2: Fold the sauce in 5 slices and put it in the dough.
Step 3: Paint the eggs with a pitcher of a clock showing what time you want to wake up and eat pizza for breakfast.
Step 4: Put the eggs in the dough.
Step 5: Make it flat into a round shape and draw the time you want on it.
Step 6: Put some old steel to prevent other peple from stealing it.
Step 7: Make it flat and cut into 60 slices 1 for each minute in 1 our.
Step 8: Put in the oven set the timer to 30048813.2884 seconds and put the temperature on 'Volcano' setting.
Step 9: If you think it is take to long, then get yor alarm clock and set it to now so that it will ring and you can take it out.
Step 10: Take it out uv the uvin wen it is redy and go to bed. In the morning eat pizza and also eat yor hands bi mistake.

at the time, I was using a cold fusion reactor to provide -500kgs of mass, as I used it on every bot.
I have since corrected the issue with a temporary anti-ballast ZONE with -1 million kgs mass.

Also, why do Anti-ballasts left on a bot tend to cause a warp effect?

no one really knows why. we just blame RA2 having a really outdated (late 90's, early 2000's) physics engine.

Visibly the engine can't handle negative mass components.

Heck it can't handle many negative things anyway.
