So ive just downloaded DSL-TC 2.2 and the game runs fine, but whenever i try to save a bot by going to team hq, the bot isn't saved in a slot. somebody help!

So you build the bot then go back to team management it is not there?

make sure none of the 2.2 team files are read-only

yes, i go to build the bot and when im done its not there. also, whenever i try to import a bot, the game crashes.

Odd, try reinstalling. Or a different DSL.

i have stock ra2 installed, would that maybe have anything to do with it?

i installed the full foolproof dsl 2.2 instead of the patch. does the full game need any small tweaks?

I just had issue like this. Do you see any proper saved bot files in the teams subfolder? If so, check the teams text file and make sure your team bio looks something like this:

Killer Instict
"Supreme victory!"
Teams\pirate flag.bmp
Robots: 0 1 2 3 4 5

The "robots" line affects the visibility of the robots in the HQ.

it isn't working, the teams.txt isn't a read only file and i changed it to have the 0 1 2 3 4 5 thing and it still isn't working!

if i go to events and choose one, when the screen appears to select a bot, all the slots have "No Robot Preview" as if a bot is taking up that slot.

dont do what dreamcast said, since your bots arent saving it sounds like all it will do is give you blank slots that crash. just do what badnik has said twice.

Sometimes the whole folders are read only,once it was like that to me, it should be when you go to the folder named dSL. right click , properties, you should get something a little like this,

Make sure read only is unchecked, if it is uncheck it, If that dont work,you may have to edit the text documents to add the bots.also it it said Archive, consider unchecking it. Hope this helps, if not sorry, maybe you can try the manual way.Ehere you go to teams team 1 make a bot named Bot0, go back go to the teams text file, there copy the info for the 1st team that is there. Team 0 rookies. Copy the contents.

Since you made a team from what it sounds you have the template for you. I just think the numbers below represent the bot numbers, starting at 0.
Robots and numbers mean the number of bots in team I think.i don't think you need the 1 23456 at the top though. Try manually inserting bots.

i used command prompt to force the dsl 2.2 folder to not read-only

i think you could have just right clicked on the folder and unchecked read only

if you have the ra2 folder in program files sometimes that happens. I just have mine on my desktop and no issues.
you may be able to run ra2 as administrator and see if that fixes it.
