Re-using my old thread. From the first step, how would I go about skinning a 40cm titanium skirt?

Thanks

Unfortunately it doesn't appear to be a simple BMP image file edit like I am accustomed to.  I think you will have to learn to edit the GMF file that is associated with the skirt.  I haven't learned how to do that.  But I think that Sonny and GK have asked/learned about that in the past on the forum.  Look for the thread that Sonny asks about editing GMF files (he does that alot for his replicas) and I think you might find your answers.

Also, I had no idea about the delete components with the delete key either.  Started doing that today, holy carp that saves a ton of mouse miles when deconstructing a lousy build to make modifications.  :P

Tite skirts should be fed a BMP image like normal

The problem?

Several other components use the Tite texture and thus the file names conflict and overwrite each other, to pull it off you need to decompile/compile then edit the file name contained in the GMF and rename the skin itself

*raises index finger*

I'm dead. I won't bother as I'm not into compiling, editing GMF files etc.

I do believe you'll have to decompile the GMF, then change the texture's path to another file rather than just "titanium.bmp" or "Tit.bmp" or i don't know what file, recompile it and create that new file.

Protip (or more like lazytip):  If you only want to change the name of the skin .bmp, you can simply open the .gmf in Notepad++ (regular Notepad won't work), find the file name (it will be easily recognizable as the only plain English in a sea of garble) and change it.  As long as the new file name is the same number of letters long as the old one, it will work.  No need to decompile and recompile!
