Crashes when trying to start a battle? [SOLVED]

Ok so whenever I try to start a battle in the game it comes up with the "Robot arena 2 has stopped working" dialog. I have not changed the game in any way and it is a fresh install. Whats going on?

Have you installed any Mods and/or AI bots?

Nope nothing at all, completely vanilla.

What exactly is your error message?

Maybe run it in compatability mode with XP or ME, maybe that might help... I doubt it, but it might.

If none of this works, download one of our clean versions which is totally not *cough* found in Sage's signature, to see if that works.

"Robot arena 2.exe has stopped working" "Windows is trying to find a solution for the error" etc...

and yeah compatability sadly makes no difference as usual 

I'll try this 'special' version that you don't have

It's not special, it just might be the source you're getting it from is messed up. This is guaranteed to work (unless RA2 literally wont work on your pc) as its worked for everyone XD

Where did you get it? CD? Download? Torrent?

Have you installed the 1.3 patch? Oh, try it in XP compatibility mode and see if that works, too.
