Ok, so i recently got a good GMF decompiler that i can understand.
I've reskinned a Rubber Wheel in the stages according to the Arthrobotics website.
Then when i click on the component it is just an attatchment point, no component veiwable.
Have i maybe done something wrong?

The only thing that i've changed in here is the map's BMP file name, bluewheel.bmp
Do i need to do anything else to it?

You have only one RBCollection List in your GMF file, but there should be two of them. be sure you use both the latest version of the compiler and decompiler found at http://code.google.com/p/gmftoolkit/downloads/list, and not dummee's.

How the heck do you compile stuff?
Decompiling is ok, but where do i compile the GMF's?
Again, i did another failiure.
Now, my Buzzard Wheel closes my game, and my new wheel doesnt even appear in the bot lab.
Damn I should probably put something fancy in this bit huh?

For reskinning can't you just go into the file and change the colour of the image in the file? That's what I did for my reskin of the combat zone.

I am not sure if you are doing everything correctly. Let's see, these are the steps to modify a component in-game:
1) Locate the GMF file you want to modify (can be an original component, or a copy, whatever it just must show up in the game)
2) Use the GMF decompiler to transform it into ASCII form (readable by humans, editable with notepad), and save it where you won;t loose it (eg. your desktop), it would be smart to call it x_txt.gmf, where x is the original name of the file.
3) Edit the _txt.gmf file with notepad, modify anything you want, here you want to change the name of the bitmap that maps the component.
4) Use the GMF Compiler to compile the _txt.gmf file

One last question, when im reskinning say like the sledgehammer, which has 2 maps, when i open the component, the side has been recolored, but the front and back are white, when they should be blue.
Any help?

did you edit both maps?

if you did, then the front and back are colored via the .gmf file with hexadecimal code, and you cant change that with photo-editing programs.
