Hi when iam trying to install the v1.20 for robot arena 2 i got an error sayin: 1628: Faild to complete installation. what should i do?

If you told it to install into the RA2 directory ex: C:\program files\RA2, it probably won't install.
If you have the downloaded version, ask someone else, I have the cd version.

I din't tell it to install anywhere the error shows up when it's preparing the install.

You should probably try re-downloading it. If that doesn't work, restart your computer. If that doesn't work, then I think your computer hates DSL. Badly.

You probally already have V1.2
Start the game, click Credits and look in the top right corner for the version.

iam not talking about the dsl patch i mean the real robot arena 2 patch the dsl patch works great.

Start the game, click Credits and look in the top right corner for the version of Robot Arena 2

Well you were supposed to update to v1.2 BEFORE installing DSL, so I don't see how DSL installed right. There should have been several white blanks in the bot lab components. You do know you need to have the disc in the drive to update, don't you?

the official patch for 1.2 is corrupt! when i try installing it i get the error, when i try extracting it with winrar it says the archive is corrupt.....can anyone post a link to a WORKING OFFICIAL PATCH?

and the CD version of dsl 1.0 install is messed....it stops at 20% with an error....ill post log in a a sec

That is because you are installing to Robot Arena folder, instead of a clean empty folder like the instructions say.

And the Robot Arena Patch is not corrupt either.....You DO know you need to have the CD in the tray for it to work don't you?

your the one who cant get it installed.... all he is doing is trying to help you make it work.

i just reinstalled ra2(1.0) and downloaded the patch from robotarena.com, it works fine for me

if you want i can send it to you through msn
