Oh man, the Oblivion music is so much better than Skyrim's, and I prefer the feel of the game. It's a shame that the levelling system (The main focus of the game) was a bit crap, and I never understood it.

The way you level up is very similar, though. Your individual skills increase as you use them, until you've leveled up enough skills, then you can level up. It's just that instead of perks, you chose a 'Governing skill', which can lead to you getting bonuses from higher level skills governed by them.

Personally I think the best game and  it's theme was Morrowind, even though much more of a difficult game, it's still got a place in my heart that Skyrim didn't quite fill.

I've never played Oblivion, but I think I'd get Fallout 3 before I get Oblivion.

Morrowind was a better game for its time.

Morrowind beats Skyrim in gameplay. Not in graphics, of course, but still Morro <3

Sadly I will never really appreciate Skyrim, it feels as though it's lacking imagination and character. I'm not a huge fan of open world RPGs like Skyrim but I enjoyed Oblivion and Fallout 3 (the latter for its originality, although I need to play the first Fallout too).

It just feels a bit like Bethesda sold out when they were making Skyrim, not going for the same feel that followers of the series enjoy and play the games for.

Really I thought that Skyrim was the best of all the Elder Scrolls games I've played. (I've played Oblivion, Morrowind (It sucked), and Skyrim)

it's a bit too repetitive (go do this, go fetch some pearls for dave), but I like the leveling system.

As if you play Skyrim for the quests.

I play it for Aela's ass and sideboob. Plus the scenery porn.

I only got Skyrim to offset getting an expensive gaming computer, and it hooked me to the Elder Scrolls series. To be honest once you're finished there very little replay value except for playing as different classes, and that begins to get tedious quickly, as well.

Yeah, clearing out dungeons will get tedious after a while. Clearing out dungeons without getting your pack mule follower killed will also get tedious after a while. So I just walk along Skyrim's border (no sprinting, just walking), and occassionally noclip out of the border when I see some cool stuff (like the Red Mountain).

Yeah, I played skyrim for the cool stuff (dragons, shouts, scenery, etc). In gameplay it is honestly inferior to morrowind.

Plus, as a predominantly mage-playing person, I thought the magic in Skyrim was severely lacking for some reason. Just didn't feel that rewarding or fun.

Magic seems like it is only really fun when you have the best spells (The Master level spells are just badass). Although my friend got the Dawnguard expansion (he is a Vampire Lord now) and he showed me that he could use Telekinesis to fling Giants, which was infinitely awesome. I have yet to play a mage...or indeed start a new character that isn't a thief that tries to avoid hurting people who aren't hostile to him (as well as talking his way out of things and attempting to do things for free wherever possible (like in every other open world game that allows me to sneak around and steal things)). For some reason, I have never had any luck with face to face combat in any Elder Scrolls game (although, Skyrim's did seem to be a lot easier, and Oblivion's was easier than Morrowind's (unless I was just critically underlevelled, or something)).
Yes that sequence of words I just said made perfect sense.
