The sydney sleeper is an awful weapon. And facestabs happen due to a ping difference, I think. :P

A Sniper just needs a clear LoS to make a shot. A Spy needs to wade in undetected and risk his own life to get a kill. If anything, Spies deserve their backstab kills. And even with enough skill, you just can't avoid a headshot from a good Sniper. Only a lack of skill allows you to get backstabbed.

And on Orange, of all maps, all you need to be happy is to put your tryhard pants on and just make that damn camping Sniper ragequit.

Actually, scrap that. Orange is a terribad map and people should stop playing in it.

It's actually a bit underestimated I feel, but decent enough in the right hands. It's more of a long-distance support weapon to assist teammates at closer range, but that hasn't stopped me killing stuff in one shot with it.
That, and needle-sharp darts filled with piss are hardly the most pleasant things to be shot with XD

And yes, precisely why I think backstabbing shouldn't kill in one shot. How should a tiny little knife do more damage than an Axe or a Kukri?

Why should a pair of brass knuckles do less damage than a fish or a lollipop? Why does a makeshift rocket launcher deal more damage than a futuristic one? Why does a glass bottle and a nail on a stick deal the same damage as a huge-ass sword? This isn't a simulator, you know.

And if sapping is the only thing Spy can do, then no one would pick him ever. Spy is always about high risk high reward. He can't do crap if he doesn't try to do anything dangerous.

You misunderstood me. I think the sydney sleeper is terrible, because it promotes bodyshotting. A sniper should be going for the heads- the Sydney Sleeper is up with the Backburner for cheap ass weapons, imo.

Actually, Backburner has a higher skill ceiling than the regular flamer (I've been matched at least once against a BB user who doesn't waste his airblasts, it's more terrifying than an airshotting Solly). It's just that most of those users use W+M1. But yeah, a good Sniper is still better off with any other rifle than the Sleeper.

As a normal melee weapon, the knifes do less damage than an Axe or a Kukri, or even Scout's Bat I think. But if you plant it in someone's back, they'll die instantly because you'd hit their spine, severing some nerves (so paralyzed or potato-ed)

If you wanna talk Realistic, why aren't these one-hit kills?

Sun-on-a-stick
Boston Basher

They're both brutal, spiky and one sets yerr foes on fire while the other makes them bleed profusely, but guess who they're for? Scout, the Lightning fast virgin from America. Of course it'd be unfair for them to kill instantly, because then you could run around and whack everything. Kinda like an American teenage Demoknight, but faster.

None of the sharp weapons but the Spy-knives are OHKO's because that'd be too overpowered and no fun.

Also, the Sydney Sniper is an amazing weapon. Who cares if you can't headshot? Get a hit, instant Jarate. Keep firing? Mini-crit heaven.

Thoughts? Sweden has notch and SCOTLAND is the only team in all caps.

In light of the damage buff for all the Flamethrowers, I'm giving the regular one a try again- mostly for the increased amount of Compression Blasts and the "Makin' Bacon" Achievement, but it's still rather good. Might give that one a name, too.

How should a tiny little knife do more damage than an Axe or a Kukri?

It's being dug into their bodies. Remember "Meet the Spy"? The Scout takes the knife out of the Sniper's back. It went into his body, unlike most other weapons.
