In all seriousness though Madman, that's how I like to do it- I build realistically. I find it more rewarding, realistic ones tend to look better, and they often gets better ratings, too.

Well to bring this topic back to life here are some W.I.P pictures of my Midway/Fair park

And the red lettering on the ground is actually the visible texture for the invisible paths which I needed to use so I could see where I was setting up paths, I will be putting the invisible texture on later.

And I do hope to get back to work on the RCT2 Contest park, I have not done much work on it in the past few months. So I may get back to it shortly.

I attempted to build a half-replica of The Swarm in RCT2 the other day.. some bits were kinda impossible, like the 45 degree-ish slanted 'vertical loop' but the main drop was done quite well, and the coaster actually got fairly good ratings. Shame I couldn't get the appropriate theming around it (Went as far as using giant tennis rackets as a plane wing over the track..), but I still imported it into someone's custom made Thorpe Park from like 2005 and it looks pretty good.

Awesomeness! Great to see this thread being revived again, and with some pretty excellent inverted designs, too. Thunderbird reminds me of the Vampire at Chessington World of Adventures- was it an influence?

You're both wrong. It was Six Flags St. Louis.

Nope. There's a whole load of 'Batman: The Ride's in America, some under slightly different names, but all with the same, or mirrored, track designs. The St. Louis one opened 3 years after the original at Great America, 2 years after the one at Great Adventure and a year after the one at Magic Mountain. Yaaay Wikipedia.
