Wow, already?  I haven't even bought Pokemon White 2 yet, nor memorized all the G5 Pokemon.  Disappointed that they haven't changed up the starters from the fire-water-grass formula, but oh well, hopefully they get more creative with their evolutionary dual-types, I mean seriously, haven't we had enough of the fire/fighting combo?

Disappointed that they haven't changed up the starters from the fire-water-grass formula, but oh well, hopefully they get more creative with their evolutionary dual-types, I mean seriously, haven't we had enough of the fire/fighting combo?

There's speculation that the type combinations for the 3rd stages of the Starters will be Grass/Dark, Fire/Psychic, and Water/Fighting, judging by the attacks they use in the trailer.

Looks like the legendaries are trying too hard to be cool as always (i mean palette swap lugia lol), and the starters look... well almost as good as the Gen5 ones. That Fire-type may have potential though.

I'll wait to wait and judge though before I emit a good opinion. Hopefully 1/5th of the pokémon are interesting or useful.

It seems interesting, I might give it a try on my SoulSilver, because my current team is crap and I didn't get any shinies.  Here's my prospective team; it's well balanced and these are all Pokemon I've never used before (except Cyndaquil if you count the original G/S/C)

Cyndaquil (the rat)
Tauros (The ox)
Horsea (The dragon)
Farfetch'd (the rooster)
Ekans (the snake)

Which version are you playing?  Off the top of my head, here are a few....Stantler, Deerling, Bidoof, Duckwot, Teddiursa.  It's on an ocean, so hopefully that opens up some doors.  There are pages on Wikipedia for flora and fauna of canada, maybe you can get some inspiration from there

It's the Unnamed Eagle from the Norse legend of Yggdrassil actually, and also bears resemblance to the Yatagarasu, the crow from Shinto mythology who ate the sun

X and Y refer to two of the three co-ordination axes, the other being Z. This emphasizes their move into 3D. They are also the names of the two human chromosomes, possibly meaning that gender may hold a bigger role. Of course, this is all pure speculation.

In case you're wondering, Chespin uses SolarBeam and Night Slash, Fennekin uses Flamethrower and Psywave, and Froakie uses Water Gun and Close Combat



Also, the names of the Legendaries have been revealed. "X" is Xerneas, whilst "Y" is Yveltal
