I was going to try buying Red Alert 3, but then I found out about how many DRMs the series comes with. :dead: Has this been a problem for anyone else?

I have Red Alert. It's awesome. My strategy relies on getting my base surrounded by Mammoth Tanks for defense and not attacking until I have 10 or so airfields with MiG's. Then I systematically dismantle the enemy's ability to acquire resources. But then, I've only ever played against the computer.

Started a game of Renegade on hard the other day. Keep dying in the power plant in the mission with the dam, and then I lose motivation.

Don't worry your not the only one. I use a single mammoth and get its rank up then take the enemy by hit and run attacks.

Is taking one challenge request. First come first serve. I'm a bit rusty now but I'm going to try and crank something out for this. MW and up no glitches DSL or Stock.

I'm getting Red Alert 3 sometime in the near future and I'm confused about Uprising. D'you have to buy them both or what? Because I want to be able to play both sets of campaigns...

Uprising is a standalone addon, so you dont need to have the origional in order for it to work.

Also, you bst be good at multiplayer, this game does go very old with only 7 missions for each faction IIRC.

I fail at multiplayer in this game so its not on my favourites anymore.

I know you don't have to have the original, but do you need both in order to play all missions?

Yes you do, Uprising has its own missions.

The learning curve of Uprising is way steeper than the origional and has the Commanders challenge mode wich you will need to play in order to be able to fare better since you dont have all tech unlocked right away.

So if you want to know the story and get the hang of things get origional and play it trough. Then get Uprising if you want additional challenge.
Also IIRC Uprising has no multiplayer, so take that into account too.

Good. The idea is I'll purchase them and then me and Xile can play each other over internet. Resulting in the premature demise of his army.

Using a nocd crack, yes you can also you will need to use hamachi and lan play since Generals does not allow 2 of the same CD key online at the same time, and if you do that, make sure to pop me a message too, I have not played this game in such a looong while im basically at newbie level.

RA3 can also be ran without CD trough nocd crack, but it has even more advanced online protection, you can only connect 1 cd key to 1 online profile, wich makes playing co-op impossible if you both use the same CD since that requires you to go online and I dont actually remember if there was a lan option or not, if there is then the hamachi is a good solution.
