Animal Crossing New Leaf Thread

My name is Sonny_Resetti.  It should be pretty obvious that I'm an Animal Crossing fan.  Are there any others on GTM?  I'd love to exchange friend codes and hang out.  Here's mine:

Name: Ian

Town: The ABQ
Friend Code: 5172-0363-1333
I'm currently collecting Ranch stuff and assorted fossils.  Let me know if you can help me out, or if I can help you with anything

Havent gone out and gotten this yet. Been playing since ACPG but wild world was such a dissapointment... Is it really worth getting? Does it have the same charm that the first one did? Am i going to find myself awake at 3am laying in bed just listening to various audio tracks from the game?

These are the kinds of things i think about regarding this..

For once the mods did something right

At the heart of it this is more of the same, and I doubt I'd be playing it had it not been so long since the Wii version.  While it doesn't capture the charm of the original, there have been enough changes that you'll like it if you're ok with the core concept playing Animal Crossing once again.  Here are the biggest changes, not sure if you'll find them good or bad

-New stuff unlocks each day you play, and this progresses for quite a long time
-It is a lot, lot easier to make money
-It is also easier to get the silver tools
-Diving, a new subset of creatures for you to find
-If you have your DS in sleep mode, it will automatically swap data (your name and the inside of your house) with anyone nearby
-Your inventory limit is still 16
-The island is back, albeit in a different capacity
-And perhaps biggest of all, you can choose not to enable Mr. Resetti

-Your inventory limit is still 16

Although you can 'increase' you inventory size by 10 if you use empty letters (just by dragging an item into the letter). Also, fruit stacks now, Making it all the more easier to farm money from selling fruit at another town.

The Island is the easiest way to make money, just by going there after about 7pm-ish and catching the rare bugs and the sharks (If you stick to catching things worth 8000 or more (not too hard in the evening, where the cheapest insects are the ground based ones which you need to scare away/ferry into the water, the butterflies (which are a pain unless you dig up the bushes), and the couple of things that are worth less (fruit beetle is worth 200, Goliath Beetle is worth 6000, Ocean Sunfish is worth 3000 (I believe), and hammerhead is worth 6000 (I think), you can make a minimum of 320,000 per trip, and it only costs you 100 to get there). And that's not taking into account the fact that you will probably get five or so golden scarabs, and also not taking into account what the bonus item at Re-Tail is.

Also, campsite is kind of OP when it comes to getting items, when I first went there, I managed to come out with enough things to give each of my rooms a theme (saying that, it can get a bit expensive if you aren't using the island to get the money and if luck isn't on your side).

Then there is the perfect fruit, which sells for rather a lot more (I think it is 600 in your own town and 3000 in a town where it isn't native), you can plant them to make a tree, but that tree will only last something like 4-7 harvests, and on the last harvest, it will give you a rotten fruit as well (on the bright side, leave it lying around to get a new bug)

I have been kind of neglecting this in the past week or so, but I'll try to get back into it.

Town: Wotton

I think I am mainly trying to get Sleek stuff for my bedroom (see also: basement), some more things for my games room (so like pool tables and dart boards (although I already have those two), some sort of oriental stuff for my back room (swords, masks, and the like), kitchen related stuff for my kitchen, and instruments for my music room.
My town fruit is cherry (so I will be looking to pawn off my perfect cherries in any other town).
Yes that sequence of words I just said made perfect sense.
