Scrap Daddy Incredible Design: DSL Edition
« on: September 09, 2008, 03:59:16 PM »
I havent been around much lately because of school and stuff. Im new to dsl. This my second bot ive made and it beats all the ai. Its probably going to be my entry for sage's tournament unless I build something better.

If you think of anything I can improve tell me. I kinda want to upgrade the spikes and put better wheels on. I have weight. I could make the titamium 3 to titanium 1 and downgrade the snowplows a bit. They never fall off anyway..

comment please! :D

It might not get accepted because the two middle spinners overlap, and that would be hard to time in real life.
Great for your second bot though!

piglets = fail. I would definitely go light snowplows on the side.

taz wheels man...if your going to use the Etek drive you better go with wheels that are less weight with the same grip. an alternative is to go NPC Fasts with grippier wheels (Better IMO)

Too many anglers!

I would go NPC fast-Techno Destructo wheels, and get magmotors for these FS's. Titanium 1 would be a good choice as the chassis isn't really exposed.

Also, LOL... one Rabid Pit Bull replica and one Neglected Waterbug replica in the same tourney!

Funny how both those bots were built by Rejected.  That guy's legacy is hard to beat.  What's next, a DSL Clockwork Hydra?

As long as they're not spinning too much weight, the Piglets could work.  I don't think 4 razor tips is too much weight.  Magmotors would definitely be better though, for lifting bots.  The only problem would be with their shape, you would need some way to protect the black motor part.

I would use lighter plows and use the extra weight for better wheels, for starters.  Then you can try to upgrade the spikes, perhaps to maces.

Change the angle A little so the weapons don't overlap.
Ignore the others, It's good to have a little diversity in Motors.
Put this onto your signature if you were part of this crappy fad in '03.

I switched the piglets to the motors that look like RADs, changed the snowplows and drive and the main upgrade was to beater bars. Made a HUGE difference in how it fights.

Heres my raw bot. I decided to make a hw iron spaghetti.

Oh boy.  Laggerific.  I made a bot like that once and it was as laggy as a SHW.

It was also powerful, though, as Steel Meatball no doubt also is.  Don't wanna face that bot in RAW!  I've found that using all flails is sometimes a mistake, though.  The axles are a weak link.  You might want to try using a combination of flails and fixed weapons, like on Grog the Vengeful.

Edit: Wait, what am I doing giving advice to possible opponents? :S

Ah well, it's all in good sport.

I hate Grog, that is the hardest bot for my soon to be showcased bot Hawk to flip out of the DSL tournament arena.

I've beaten Grog (something 8 wons in 4 defeats) like with IC 2, and several times by ramming him OOTA on the DSL tournament arena.

Good thing there's no obstacle in the RAW arena. Go fast drive trains!

with my RAW bot, it can totally annihilate Grog the Vengeful (but with my driving, dunno how it would do AIed against it)

Driving doesn't matter at all against Sheck Spinners because you will get hit no matter what.

Well really it does, for as User or AI, you don't want to expose somethings like your wheels or unarmored spots ....
