What's with the random ME in the middle?

It attaches the skirt underneath the bot. Because the chassis is too small the half skirt wont fit normally.

@ Duck- no, because you can shave off a little of the skirt in real life.

@ naryar- somewhat invertible. The small beater bars are like that so they have more reach.

I need help.

So basically i have to build this thing for BTTB 2. I got about this far. It's pretty stable, but 1 major problem is getting stuck on its front, vertically. Need to fix that while keeping the invertibility.

NPC fasts, 4 ants, tit 1 (for now). the inside disc has 8 beater bars (4 pairs of "T" shapes)

I'm going to shrink the chassis sideways until the two wheels are almost touching, but other than that I need advice xD Too much time away from DSL i suppose.

Well, you're ridiculously underweight, unless that's a part of BTTB. Short of making it non-vertically symmetrical, you could maybe put some DSL bars out of the sides and then some extenders forward off of those so it will tip backwards if it lands on the front.
Avoid the beam and you won't get hit!

I know I'm underweight, it's not finished yet... which is why I'm asking for advice.

That could work, yet I fear it would be much too wide.

Well, I don't know much about DSL, but I think I have a solution to stop it from getting stuck on its front. Try making one of the skirts that keep the blade from touching the ground shorter so when it tips onto its front, gravity will force it on the side with the shorter leg.

You should probably find a way to get 2 120cm skirts side by side so it won't have to tip over everytime it hits something hard.

If you actually do decide to try my method, make the bottom ones shorter, or the top skirts longer so it doesn't bounce up when it hits a wall like Pwn said.

Rotate the beater bard with the angled skirts 90 decrees to the front so they prevent it from tipping on its nose.

But what would really help it not tip on its nose is to have the chassis leveled out when the bot is on the move, as you may remember, RA2 apllies forward movevement to the chassis, so while the chassis is ponting slightly upwards, it will try to go that way.

First question: why the heck are the wheels pointed inwards?

Also, NPC motors have god awful HP. Leaving them out like that is pretty much suicide.

Instead of the quick fix, I'd consider a new setup. Instead of:
<weapon>--<extender>--<chassis>--<extender>--<drive>

go fo a more Mako-like setup, as in:
<weapon>--<longer extender>--<chassis+drive>

And then go from there. Also, MOAR WEAPONS.

Maybe using drive Eteks and a bigger weapon will put enough torque on the bot that it will want to flip past its front and land upside down? It's kind of iffy but may work.

OKAY so I changed it a little. :P

4 npc fast, tit 1.

Definitely better, but still needs help.

1. Speed makes it easier to trap and push bots around, but also causes itself to flip itself over on occasion.
2. Bursts not powerful enough for srimech
3. Weapon setup could be more damaging?
4. Needs rear stabalizers methinks.

The batteries are clustered to one side to counteract the "lift" on the wedge caused by the rotation of the motor.

Personally I prefer using 2WD NPC Fasts with Technos since it's lightweight while still being somewhat fast.

With a bit of tweaking that would probably be a worthy Backyard Shredder rebuild.

Giving it technos let me add some stabilizers in the back and bring the armor up to Tit 3. Works pretty darn well now.

Any last tweaks before I send it off to BTTB 2?
