I found the drive motors are too exposed. I need to figure out a way to protect them....

Downgrade the extenders and skirts maybe to add a DSL bar on a multiextender at the back?

I like it.

It'd probably be best to remove the steel skrits and replace with titanium ones, then you can add some protection for the drive motors.

5 ants 5mm tite and BSGs. Dunno how the weapon works yet, it's not tested.
I tried to make it more realistic, though the srimech going through the tite sheet isn't. I might redo.

No, Heavy DSL teeth aren't the top choice on popups. And i would highly recommend 6 ants for this.
