I might not be that much of a DSL builder, but I guess I can give you tips! Eliminate empty space, shrink the chassis. What's the air tank used for?

It has a piston for a srimech.  An interesting idea... but probably is quirky and unpredictable.  I would think you might be able to ditch the piston/airtank and replace them with a couple of snapper styple motors to flip the thing back onto its wheels.  The design look like it would fare well with that modification.

Good to have you back Pressure.  Make some more bots, get addicted again :P

Edit: aw crap... pressure cleared up the airtank question first.

Hope i can stay longer than i did last time...

Maybe i will have a go at modifying the bot in the future. Think im gonna focus on getting better at building new bots first though ;)

Last time I saw a bot use it it was one of LRA2's. Can't remember which.
Simply put, it didn't work. Then again, it was a single Storm piston on a heavyweight.

nice to see old members returning

there are flaws in that bot but Im not the kind of person to dwell on those, instead I want to say great job on making a robot that really "captures" VS

the disc coming out of the chassis, 2 teeth on the disc, it may not be the most powerful robot but it certainly looks good   ;)

^ Thanks ;)

I am a bit of a stickler for some kind of realism, so i tend to try make the bots look realistic. I find it very hard to make a bot that can possibly win a tournament though (i.e Those multiple Red-Bird spinners from the BBEANS4 i think, the small bots).

Weapon and drive are unsufficient.

Oh and you don't need a WP836E for that... 4-5 ants are enough, and ditch that piston srimech idea - it's a better idea, by far, to make your bot self-right with the weapon.

Possible BBEANS 6 entry.

Now the basics.

2 Battlepacks to suffcient power (battery drains reasonably quickly.)
2 TWM Drive Motors.
1 Double TWM for the Sheck (It's sufficient enough to spin it, for a lightweight.)
3mm Plastic for weight saving.
And the rest can be seen in the pictures.

I am working on some other lightweights for possible entry.

You can perfectly do it with 3 (or 4) ant batts.

Nice weapon choice though... not a lot of them however...

I had to sacrifice 4 panels and spikes to save weight unfortunatly.

I'll try the 4 Ant Batteries and see how it goes.

Say there Rotary-nut!  I like that bot.  How does it fare in battle? I have never attempted a LW FBS before. I figured that the bot would be too light to keep stable.  When it lands a solid hit, does the bot reflect back a lot because it is so light?

I fares rather admirably in battle. Doesn't really get flung around, but it does tend to Mauler Dance a bit.

P.S. Those Ant Batteries seem to pack a little more punch than the two Battlepacks it had before.

A prototype bot. Untested as of yet.

It pretty much has the same innards as Smash Revolution.

well, you will probably need something to protect the motor, as I can see it being ripped off.

How much does it weigh, and what armour do you have on it?

The motor seems fine for spinning a saw blade.

It weigh's 246KG or something, and has the same armour as Smash Revolution.

It's only a test bot, so it will probally be improved over time.

Horizontal sawbots arent that good IMO, maybe use a 50cm black disc with small DS teeth.

55kg motor for a less-than-20kg sawblade is overkill.

Horizontal sawbots arent that good IMO

Understatement. They fail.
