not sure if I've ever posted a bot on GTM before. Exciting new territory.

This is Robo JoJo, update of an old bot.

the steel extender at the back is the reminents of an old shrimech and shouldn't actually be there
I'm still fiddling with the design a bit, so could use some suggestions.

I like this. While you were away Click discovered that any spin (not burst though) motor can be powered by one ant battery. Others will probably explain it better.

EDIT: I think I found it: https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php/topic,2654.0.html
My above post explains everything about everything.

you only need 4-8 ant batteries anyway so you don't need to stack.

hahah. Everyone is being so nice and gentle because we don't want to scare Phlox away. (so much love... how can you stand it Phlox?)

So, uhhhh... I'll be the bastard and call out that the Irons pass though the motors which is a realistic rule no-no.  I think people are not pointing this out because they are scared of the possible scenario:

Random member: "OMG Phlox you noobzorz... You cant pass teh irons thru motors liek that!!!1!!"
Phlox:  "Augh! So rude. I am leaving GTM and taking all my shiny toys with me. You ruined it for everyone Random Member. I hate you. Buh-bye."
All other members: "You scared Phlox away! It was like the second coming of Jesus here on GTM and you ruined it."
Random member:  *cries*

Sooooo... yeah the battery thing was already pointed out and that will probably make you happy. Looks like a cool bot, just needs some tweaks.  Hope you share more of your work!

Hey, Phlox.  Nice to see you.
Cool bot. You always did 'think out of the box'...

Welcome back.
Input is appreciated. :)

As far as I am concerned, if the game let's me do, I'm going to do it. DSL 3 isn't out yet, and if/when it does, I'll adapt.

The battery thing is new to me. But from what I can discern It seems more batteries still allow longer spin time. but with this in mind, i'm going to shrink the chassis to it's minimum.

Nice Heavens Sawmill replica.:P

Clearly I wasn'taround for BBEANS5 and Heavens Sawmill, but I think most will agree, CBincluded that the design has been done 100 times before, like 99% ofdesigns.

other than bats (which was very helpful) any other suggestions?

(on a second note, I think my sister has been here, there was an auto-login on her account.)

That's fine for just regular bot building, but if you aim to enter any tournaments, you'll have to abide by the realistic rule.  Unless someone does something wild and crazy and hosts an unrealistic, anything-goes DSL tournament.

Actually that doesn't sound like a half bad idea... kind of like doing a realistic tournament in stock, but opposite.

Anyways, suggestions for Robo Jojo: upgrade the plows to the 35 kg heavy ones if you can; they have 2000 fracture so they're nearly unbreakable.  Then if you could make the bot's wedge better--use the metal door hinges or burst motors--it would be a force to be reckoned with.

To lack feeling is to be dead, but to act on every feeling is to be a child.

Well, Mil and I always planned on hosting a such tournament. So perhaps if we can maintain interest until easter we will.

Here's mark two
still about 12KG to play with, I did put panic skirts on it, but I'm not sure I liked them.

I think I might prefer the first one

use the metal door hinges or burst motors

The first one did use burst motors.
out of interest is there a difference in wedgeyness between Hinges/skirts/bursts?

Bursts and Door hinges are generally on par more or less, while skirt hinges aren't as good.

I'd certainly be interested in doing this. I'd fail at it, but that's not the point.

That's still open to debate. My experience says they are to similar in wedginess to say one is definitely better than the other.

Door Hinges + Skirt Hinges = AGOD
ALWAYS!!! Every single time I make a wedge with those it AGODs...

Soo i'd prefer using Door Hinges & Attaching a Multi Extender in the chassis & Angling it exactly with an angle connector to be able to paste the rest of the wedge while the Metal Hinges are extra low in the bot lab...
So when you play they raise & Perfectly "fit" the other part made with extenders

Like this:

EDIT:
Its just a bit heavier...
Skirt Hinge is 5 KGs
& My Setup is 7 KGs :P
