What was wrong with the armour to start with?

The DSL armors are not as equally efficient. Remember what we say about aluminium is bad ? Now it isn't.

However, if I build a bot and apply one of your new armours, and then decide to take it back into DSL or enter a DSL tournament, the bot becomes totally illegal.

But making it legal is a very easy BFE OR botlab job !

But i see a point taken here. Armor changes are probably coming too quickly - they will be implemented into my next mod, but not into NAR AI.

It's not that much of a difference in efficiency, though, is it? I thought 5mm Aluminium was quite good, besides.

It's a small change in efficiency, but enough hitpoints to make a change. But it mostly makes a change on Alu and Steel.

5mm alu is :fail:. You're thinking of 5mm steel.

Oh, right. Most people use external armour anyway, I didn't think it would matter terrifically much if they were a little bit unequal.

You might want to downgrade to a piglet for the BW, like this:

Mine needs to sacrifice something for another ant, but yeah. :P
Clash Cubes 1 - Grey Matter (Runner-Up)
King of Karnage - Sideshow Freak (Runner-Up, Best Engineered)
Rust In Pieces - Paper Cut 3 (Grand Champion, Most Dangerous Bot)
Wheely Tag Tournament - Ion Thruster (Grand Champion, along with Ounces' DiSemboweLment)
UK vs USA - Dark Striker (Grand Champion)
Rust In Pieces 2 - Claymore (Runner-Up, Favourite Bot)
BBEANS 6 - Infection 4 (Runner-Up)
RA2 Team Championships - Serious Business, Skeksis (Runner-Up, along with Scrappy, S_M, and Badnik)
RA2 Team Championships 2 - The Other Stig (Runner-Up, along with Scrappy, S_M, Badnik, 090901, and R1885)
Replica Wars 3 - Abaddon (Runner-Up, Luckiest Bot)
BroBots - wheebot & yaybot (Runner-Up)
Robo Zone 2 - Dipper (4th place, Survival Champion, & Best Axle Bot)
ARBBC - The Covenant (3rd place, BW Rumble Winner, Most Feared BW)

Would you not need to make a bit of a bigger chassis there for said ant? And I switched the TWMR3 for a Piglet at Naryar's reccomendation on the BW and the LW. Might put it back on the LW, though.

@Nary and G.K.: Just so you know, the parts do not all revert. Like attaching Betas outside the chassis. That would and could never happen IRL.

And if we are so worried about "real life", how come everything needs to be equally efficient?

In robot wars, there was a reason Shunt switched from an axe blade to a "diamond-tipped axe". Even if both weapons had the same force behind them, the hammer would do more damage than the axe, because it has a smaller point of impact, and has more force.

Also in real life, there are no 10mm armors, especially not in something heavy like steel. And 10mm of steel would have a different efficiency for the weight as 10mm Titanium. Exactly why they are DIFFERENT METALS. Titanium provides weight efficiency, but if you really want the protection, you sacrifice the weight for the less-efficient steel.

Edit: <<Check it
I built that big robot on that TV show that time

I know, but the beta would stay attached to wherever it was, as the attachement points are written in the bot file. I'm sure Nary edityed the original one rather than adding another.
My above post explains everything about everything.

Just clone my chassis shape and raise its height so another ant can fit. It should still be lighter than the chassis you have now. But there's always the risk of having your wheels torn off, especially at sub-LW classes.

Oh they are beyond "a little bit" worst if you are considering opportunity cost.  You are roughly paying 1kg for 20 hp for upgrading.

Better off downgrade to plastic 5 and put another piece of external.

You should angle the wheel extenders so it looks cooler.
