DOUBLE POST and a few new bots.

Possessed Acolyte - 5mm plastic, 4 ants, NPC drive

Would be one of my top bots with a better wedge and invertibility.

Against Backyard Shredder that is going to be updated soon

Another bot - obviously inspired by someone else's building, and i am finally no longer failing at VS

Inhuman Treatment - 6 ants, 5mm Ti, something like 799.4 kg, NPC drive.

It's rather stable, very wedgy (went under HnM 4, that wedge is outdated) and highly armored (wheels are still exposed though).

@Russian : Exactly 17 40cm Titanium sheets, but no they are roughly balanced on both sides.

@Joe : Yes, Immobile is "FAIL" in white and Eliminated should be "Out !"

Edit:

Backyard Grinder - 799.8, 5mm Ti, NPC normal drive

Ripped that off one of Russian's designs (that i am still waiting for an update for NAR AI !).

It would be awesome if the wedge did not failed (again, spinner torque) and if it would be more stable.

nicely done

just a theory would it make one wedge better then the other from the way it spins ? :P

also "fail" will make a few laugh's I haven't really thought about backlash ones though they will be different from DSL or Stock, Im also looking into the critical hit one too

Exactly, and it also makes the other one worse. Technically, the spinner's torque when accelerating exerts a force in the same plane as the disc (so both vertical and horizontal) on one of the wedgès, and by reaction the other one is slightly lifted, but enough for making the wedge fail and the bot being unstable.

It would not be a problem if i had two similar counter-rotating spinners so the forces will counter each other, but i don't want another Asylum clone :P

You know, maybe the bot will be better if you simply remove the weak wedge.  It doesn't need to be symmetrical given that the torque will mess up your drive regardless.  I guess the extra weight can be used for side stabilizer or something.

So you mean a single wedge at the middle and heavy stabilizer work ? That's pretty much the only idea i have to keep it's wedginess at least decent.

It might be a bit crazy, but I was actually thinking along the line of using an irregular chassis shape, asymmetrical chassis, and single wedge to counterbalance the torque.  So if the motor is spinning counterclockwise it will look something like this.

As far as where it needs more stabilize work I am sure you will know that better than I do.

Then again, most of my "test attempts" doesn't turn out so well, so try at your own risk.

actually I was thinking of trying the worse wedge a little lower then the other so the torque keeps them both on the ground ?

Which is quite tough to do with a metal hinge wedge. Might work with snapper wedges, though. :D

Backyard grinder is a work of art!

I don't recognize the teeth though... hmmm not sure what they weigh but I will throw out a suggestion for giggles:

Maybe ditch the current teeth and downgrade to Light DSL teeth, if you have enough weight saved up put NPC drive on the front of it and make it four wheel drive. It will add weight to the front and stabilize the bot more. Might even be able to stabilize it a ton if you use wheels that have a superior collision mesh/good traction.  I know the front wheels will be out in the open, but it will give you a greater chance for attack. Pluse there would not be too much harm done if the front wheels eventually got lobbed off, as long as you have them long enough to get a bot up in the vortex of doom it might work out well.

You are more of an expert at DSL than I...  But I still like making extreme suggestions! :D

These are Lightning teeth.

I really went RAAAAGE yesterday evening because BR didn't worked even with Joe's uneven height suggestion and 123's unsymmetrical design (Might be because i went happy on the vodka a few hours before...)...

Anyways -

Infernal Contraption 7.1 - ditched the plow to get 5mm Ti. It has 10 ant batts as well, maybe a little too much but i'll just see.

I tried to make it self-rightable. It is able to do so, but it takes him a few tries to actually manage it - most of the time it ends balanced on his rear end and falls backwards again.

That's probably where the Mag snappers come in. I'll try building a version of TIB with BSGs to see if it can self-right.

But the weapon setup is schweet. :D

These ARE BSG's... And since BSG's have the same torque value as mag snappers, i am convinced they are as good for self-righting and flippers.

Also it self-rights much more easily when AI-ed for some random reason.
