Thanks for the compliments. The Undertaker bots were an experiment that worked quite well. UT is a bit better at the original goal that UT2 is, but UT2 hits a fair bit harder.

As far as bot styles and that sort of thing goes, for the most part I just like building bots in game that could potentially be closely reproduced in the real world.

Edit: Fear the Sawz-All

Did up a simple new skin for it.

Here's skin+insides

I think you can tweak the thing a little and get the SLIGHTLY grippier wheels (wide ant wheels).

Those hinges weight 12 kgs right? It would be lighter to use a small extender and a normal hinge. Also, try to shrink that chassis.

At least make the hinges symmetrical, A wedge even a pixel shorter than another can make an epic failure.
Put this onto your signature if you were part of this crappy fad in '03.

Closest thing I could get to a replica of the bot I'm building using stock components. It certainly hits hard enough. The Astros and tiny wheels don't quite have the speed though.

This is driving me nuts.

A few years ago there was a DSL(I think) antweight tournament. I remember doing well in it but can't remember what bot I used or which tourney it was. Pretty sure I had a fairly simple bot with caution tape painted sides, but that's about all I can remember. Anyone got a memory that goes back that far?

Edit: Not an AI tournament

Edit2: Beetle tourney, definitely DSL.
Found a pic of the bot-

AIM and time zone are now out of date.

Edit3: Found the tournament. RFSHQ DSL tourney 1 http://z4.invisionfree.com/Radio_F_Software_HQ/index.php?showforum=45

Mr. Krinkle
398.6

Managed to beat Critical Emergency with it, so I know it's at least decent. Should meet all the 'realistic' rules as the Irons don't move through anything but a bit of the wedges.

Decent sawbot

Popup is nice, but looks a little tall to me and i would use more battlepacks rather than plenty of ants. I would power this with 4 battlepacks.

Sawbot... well, beware the HS with these external saws.
