I used sir k drills on my MMR HS entry, maybe I should build something else for that  :laughing

Anyway, it's a cool build, what's the sword on the back for though? Won't that more likely end up hindering self-righting?

Irons are better than SK drill no?

I only used SK drill as a static component.

That said, since it's a wedge, you might be better off with siege hammers.  You don't want to bot to stop working because you lose 1 iron spike.

Kinda in agreement with 123 here. Losing an iron will unbalance your bot and wreck the wedge. High-HP Weapons are less prone to being knocked off. If there was some way to automatically balance the disc when a weapon is lost, that'd be useful.

123 IS SUGGESTING HIGH-CONCUSSION WEAPONS

THE WORLD IS ENDING

How about using ditch the DSL bars and just use large angled skirts as stabilizers? Then you might even want to try a metal hinge spoiler instead of a static one for teh lulz (I'd be surprised if that wedge actually works XD). :P

This bot was built to look cool. Its also probably a rip off of one of our favourite frenchmans bots..

Plastic 1 D:
NPC-F w/ Technos
4 ants
Metal Hinge wedge.
And yes, it is realistic. :P
Called Anhydrous Copper Oxide....mainly because it reminded me of Hydra.

Bot needs static bottom armor.  Since the potter isn't sink into the chassis, anchor + larger chassis is preferred over skirt hinge.  Either that or you will need a caster to prevent getting killed by popups.

Whats with the Ant Blade?

To put the potters wheel on.

I wanted the potters wheel to deweapon popups (but it didn't work as effectively as I'd wanted for the reasons you described) , thanks for the help 123 :D

Main changes- Longer (and better) wedge + flipper seg to prevent collision with other bots from making it fly.
Titanium skirts hold the drive instead.
Caster inside the potters wheel.
Al 3- Yes, I know its not efficient, but its the best armour I can get for the weight.

And this... Possible Beast From Truro 3

Plastic 3, NPC normals, caster on the bottom. Due to a realism problem (I'll miss those Sir K drills D:) I'll have to change the weapons. How can I make it more wedge nomming?

Large BB + razor combo can do the nomming for you. You can probably add another disc under your disc with the free weight.

SirK have rather low DP. If you want damage, use MOAR RAZORS or large DS teeth.

Updated version, the firestorm flipper is handy as it protects the motor a little and bots tend to get stuck on it (if for some reason they end up on top the disk. It has happened :P). My flail work could probably be better.

I decided I might as well show my CCIV entry....the original is on the bottom, the actual entry is on top.

Looks excellent. Perm seems like quite a big target for popups, though.

1) To be slightly different.
2) To try and combine the benefits of a HS with the benefits of a VS. Of course, the flinging power is greatly reduced, but it still flings. And it can counter other VS, to an extent.

Ah, i see.
Shame i'm gonna have to beat it on CC4 though
although being somewhat of a perfectionist, I hate every lightweight I make as they're all too compromised

I'm inclined to agree. Almost every LW design has some fault or another. But in the upper weight classes, they can be a little bit easier to iron out without wasting too much weight.

It's just the compromising that annoys me.
You either need to have weaker armour or weaker weapons.
Plus you can't experiment more, and as such most designs tend to be quite similair (just look at all the flipper cubes that have been showcased for a great example of that).
