Bump! Please ignore the new DSL showcase that I made... Hopefully that will get deleted.

Since there seems to be some confusion to what my R.I.P. tourney bot does, I will feature it here.

Like craaig said, Falchion is a vertical spinning gut ripper. Usually it will slice under a bot and just nip away at the guts underneath. The fast drive motors attack other bots very quickly and usually catch them before they have a chance to spin up or prepare. If it gets lucky, it can pin a bot against a wall and shred away.

Weaknesses are the obviously over exposed chassis with only 1mm alum. It does not have a srimech at all... so if it gets turned over it is in trouble. The vlad spikes do a little bit of damage too if the opposing bot gets juggled up the beater bars a bunch.  Overall, it is pretty successful against most of the AI DSL bots... does not fare too well against shell spinners though (but it easily wedges under them)

I built this bot quickly in the span of about 4 hours... so it could have turned out a bit better I imagine.  The chassis could have been made more effective... but I wanted it to look cool and be super-low and wedgy.

Well, Aluminium is a horrible armor choice, Slimbodies fail as weapon motors, you have better wheel choices, you can put a blue control board in this, what else ??

Yup, I still have a lot to learn with DSL... I agree with all of your assessments though.  I will strive to make a revised edition with better choices. Thanks for your feedback.

This is my entry for Trumpetguy's tournament.  I totally forgot to change the armour type for the entire build. So, it is unfortunately at 1mm Aluminum. (already sent it in too)  I might revise it with better armour and rearrange some of the setup.

DSA is reallllllllly weak in DSL. Worse than 1mm plastic.
The bot- I like the look a lot. But there are some things to clean up, like the T connectors and such.

Doh! I really got to get into the habit of changing the armour in DSL!

Under the t connectors are 6 way connectors... because I could not get baseplate anchors in there.

6 way connectors are incredibly fickle in DSL i find.  I can only mount them certain ways at certain heights.  Sometimes things will not mount correctly to them for no good reason.  I think I did the T connectors because extenders just didn't want to connect.

Thanks for the advice, I will take notes and prepare for a new revision of the bot.

Use Multi Extenders. They weigh only three kg and can fit almost anywhere.
Any comments would be appreciated. :D

Thanks for the advice Urjak. I have, since, been using Multi Extenders more often in my builds. They work much better.

This is my CC3 entry.

Haphazard 2

Nicely combat effective. Takes a huge beating and keeps going.  My main qualms with this bot is the horribly unprotected underside (armour is only 1mm titanium too) and the chassis is kinda big and spacey.  I had to make the chassis big in order to position the firestorm barricade the way I wanted.  I had made a smaller version (Haphazard 1) but it just didn't work out and position correctly.  The top wedge also makes the bot invertible.

Oddly, I was already fiddling with firestorm wedges before Naryar and 123 mentioned their benefits in the other showcase... I didn't know about the enhanced durability though.  I kinda wanted to go over the top with durability and cram two potters wheels in there instead of drills... but I could not stay within the weight limit that way.

Feedback is always nice.  Thanks.

Swap the E-teks for TWM3R's. Get NPC-Fasts with hypno wheels then play around with the remaining weight.

I think you might need more weapons.  40kg worth usually isn't enough.  If you like Sk drill, Maybe you can try 4 x piglets/sk drill.  And use vlad wheels while you are at it.  You will need to have 6 ant batters for 6 motors though.

I would avoid TWM3R myself, but you can try both if you want.

Here's the stat for both motor if you are interested

Piglet 20kg, 116 max speed, 10 acceleration, 8000 HP
TWMR  30kg, 139 max speed, 16 acceleration, 400 HP

For just 1 SK drill I think a piglet is enough to power it, and the HP difference is too big to ignore.

Ok... status report.

Triton: I swapped out the eteks for the twm3r and was nicely pleased with the weight drop... though those motors are a bit more fragile.  I also upgraded the drive to NPC fast... but hypno wheels killed my invertibility on the bot.

123STW:  Agreed... the bot is at a loss of weapons.  I tried a 4 piglet formation with drills and saw a nice improvement.  While I was working with that i realized that I now had enough weight to use Potters Wheels now that the weapon motors are lighter with the TWM3Rs.  I backtracked and went with my original plan for potters wheels.  In battle, the bot now has a terrible tendency to flip itself over because the drive motors are fast enough to send it end-over-end with impact.  I needed a tail and some rear armour...

OH BOY ANOTHER FIRESTORM FLIPPER!!!one!!

Think I am overdoing it? I wanted to put something else back there... but the FS flipper fit rather well... keeping the bot invertible and also giving a new "tail" to brace it when grinding away at another bot.

So... all advice taken into consideration so far... it is much improved from the earlier bot I posted.  The main weakness is that the weapon motors are a bit exposed... all it takes is one decent hit and they are gone.  I am going to play with options to maybe protect them more... not sure.

Go with a half sheet on the bottom instead of another flipper.  Mount that half sheet vertically as far back as you can and you got yourself the tail.  Add a 40 polycarbonate skirt in the back if it's still not long enough.  That will definitely offer more survivability.  I suggest either mount the npc fast internally somehow, or go back to using NPC normal.  NPC normal have 12000 HP, they won't need protection.  NPC fast has 400, and is only useful when directly connected to chassis.

Again, use vlad wheels.  If it give you invertability issue, use slipper bottom wheels (yes the collision is that much wider, check by pressing F12).  Avoid the rubber wheel you are using.  I am starting to like slipper bottom more than vlad due to it's superior collision box.

I still like piglet over TWMR, even for potter wheels.  This bot is about defense right?  For extenders, avoid normal extenders.  Use either DSL bar, flipper segment, hex slave, dsl disk, or 40cm skirts.
