it's neat

though multiextenders are really poor as far as extenders go, very few HP.

remarkably well. if the feet had any traction it would move pretty quickly and effectively believe it or not

Not sure if you could or not in DSL3 but if you put some tiny wheels onto the bottom of the extenders (attached straight to them) would that help?

im sure someones pointed out by now that the ai in this is terrible for some weird reason. itd be fun to make an ai pack for this one
this bot however is not going to be one of those. its pretty bad. testing the waters a little bit w this guy

There WASa ai pack, but its no longer being updated. I believe Naryar is making NAR AI however, but really there is no IRL pack other than Paranoia AI beta.

so i open up to throw together a quick build and dont feel like getting all irl-y with it tonight. i just want to build something destructive. so tonight ive learned that the little double-motor really doesnt spin all too ****in' fast. go figure. really unimpressed by this thing. still havent made anything worth skinning or naming yet

yes indeed they are!

so i tried to make a raptor inspired flipper and ended up with this cute little guy who just can't seem to garner up enough strength to flip a single damned thing. shame. a lot of these motors are weaker than i expected them to be... i'm going to have to cut down a bit and add in a stronger burst and hopefully it makes a difference.

i have to wonder how people make all of these bots with spectacular extender work while staying within the rule of sevens and not going over weight. le sigh

Y'know, that's something that's always pissed me off about DSL3 - The motors are too damn weak to pull anything off. NPC's are slow in HW bots, even with 4 or 6 of them, Burst motors can't lift anything, no matter how much battery power you give them, and.... uugh. I mean, I like the extenders and armour, but when you've got such -crippling- factors like the lack of any power to the motors... it's frustrating.

Staying within the rule of 7 whilst doing awesome-looking work is all a matter of practice, and trial-and-error. The amount of compremises I've had to make to my bots because of the stupidest bloody rule on the planet is insane.

I believe the motors are designed to be a little more realistic in terms of speed.
For the bot you've made there, I don't think there's enough power in it, plus the design of the flipper itself reduces the flipping power - if you can remember pivots/moments from school, the 'moment' exerted is ForceXDistance, so with your flipper, the distance is quite large, meaning the mass of the bot your trying to flip is effectively multiplied quite a bit.
If you wanna keep that design, you could try and up the amount of batteries, to see if the flipper is better under better power, increase the size of the flipper plate (so you have more flipper underneath the bot when you flip them - very useful), or just change the burst.
One thing I quite like doing to save weight on a bot you want to LOOK 4wd but don't care so much about speed is putting a set of the wheels on 360 axles, so they're purely unpowered but the bot looks 4wd.

the motor thing really, really cripples my desire to build more... what's the fun in realism if you can't **** sh** up? and motors in real life wouldn't be that slow regardless, right? it's not the speeds of the things that were unrealistic, it was the other aspects of the game!

thanks for the feedback though, i'm going to push myself to keep ****ing around and maybe i can come up with something of legit power. either that or i'm going to hack my game up to increase power in all my motors and make tournament play impossible for myself. who knows

If you want high power motors and stuff, get on the Ironforge hype train, might satisfy your needs :P

what the hell is this thing

i mayu be drunk but if i can't figure out the design of a bot there is something wrong with it

maybe it's just a V-pusher with a tiny hammer on top ?

I think we need a better angle. Like a top down view or something. I have no clue what that is and I'm too young to drink.
