Do you...like...not learn anything?

- You don't post updates to any bots and just keep throwing out new ones  Most bots were removed with a version of the game that had no longer worked and were removed
- Astros? On a HW? REALLY? Could not fit NPCs
- SS kinda suck now unless you got flails It can have no flails
- Armour? Titanium 10
- Use better weapons What is wrong with SirK claws
- Remove the C2 crap, get a top stabilizer I said it was just a decoration, the bot is very stable
- Paintjob.Did not really need one, but might add one.
- I think underpowered...? Nope. It is not underpowered.

bot looks fine if you don't intend to be competitive.

Otherwise you will need to change "everything".  It's like the whole bot is compose of bad decisions.  I don't think you can even choose worst parts deliberately.

FINISH HIM

Nah, there are worst parts that he can choose. Imagine a shell spinner with vertically angled clep tails or stacked ant sawblades.

Most of the time I just try to make sure this thread dies. Because I am more into making bots with custom parts, reps or Bots that I randomly create with designs I think of.

But here is a recreated version of one of the only bots I can recreate

Why do I bother even posting bots. But there must be a reason I do.

Armour Titanium 3 changed from Aluminum 3.

Plus a crawler I made a while ago

Fluttershy's Stare

Titanium 5

Last time GRW: Lurk!
I was looking back at the building tip and advice of others.

It seems lie everytime I bump this thread and post a new bot my rep goes down by 1. I have already explained the reason I don't build very effective machines anyway, I just build bots for fun and realism and for youtube tournaments I am soon going to start.

Then, out of curiosity, why do you showcase the bots?
Any comments would be appreciated. :D

I showcase bots only for the help of armour, weaponry to use and motors etc.

I do post bots that are supposed to be took serious for tournaments but not every single one

HoJD, Candian Warrior (After it failed in TTT), Booster Launcher 300, Blood Moon, Space Catapult and Hazardous Material were not meant to be took seriously for tournaments.

On the other hand 1001 Problems,  Extreme Xterminator, Power Bomber, Fluttershy's Stare and a few other bots not showcased were made for tournaments.

On the other hand my stock showcase was made for building tournament steady robots.

Dude you can have a realistic robot that still looks cool and is effective. Take a look at other showcases and get some ideas from them. Also just play around and fight robots that are in the same weightclass as yours and fight them in an arena without a pit or low walls. Challenge your self to fight the hardest bots. This will force you to redesign or die. Then you will get better as time goes on and once you get better it opens up a whole new world of possibility and fun with RA2.

so... much... emptyspace...
Oh and that drive isnt enough on the MW and you could use a better end weapon.
Also you went overboard on batteries a bit, get rid of one on the MW i cba to see how many the hw has :P
The axe's need more power, You can do better on a HW and you can shrink the chassis' A LOT.
Oh and most of those weapons have normals, which are bad most of the time.
You can also get better wheels.
It's sorta pointless if i carry on so just lurk and look at other peoples' showcases.

Your excuses are rubbish and don't hold up.
Yes, there are builders who build cool looking, realistic, but not very competitive bots.
But you are NOT one of these builders.
Both of these bots are supposed to be competitive, but both are very bad.
The HW has far too much empty space, too much drive, too much power, too little weaponry, nonsensical setup for the weaponry aswell, too many batteries, anoutdated skirt hinge wedge and a rubbish paintjob.
The MW is not as bad, but still has too much empty space, poor weaponry, overall poor design for the weaponry, too little drive, one too many ants and is just going to be eaten alive by gut rippers.
Improve these aspects of your bots, you should know how by now really, and if you don't, you still desperately need to lurk, and more importantly, LEARN more.

Almost one year here, longer than me, and still minimal progress
Judging by progress, I would just about say that you are the worst builder here :/

What scorp said pretty much summed it up

Here's a little bit of advice:
I first found these forums around November 2009, and I was a rather terrible builder
I lurked in showcases, mostly those of Ounce, Nary, Reier, and started to copy their designs
I then advanced with the designs I made, and made my own progressions, to the stage of the first bot in my DSL showcase
Then I registered in May 2010,  thats 6-7 months of lurking

See how much LURKING helps, its the best method of progression
Just try cloning some designs, you won't get flamed for it. Every MW popup is practically a clone these days :P

Geez people, I mean yeah GRW's building has not improved much over the time he's been here, but... you think you're rubbing it in enough?

Just say how to improve the bots, no need to go right out and say "you suck, go lurk".  Say something positive too if he's doing something right.

Fluttershy's Stare looks basically good as a concept but it NEEDS more powerful drive.  That's the main thing to do.  After that you can focus on optimizing chassis space and batteries and using better weapons (battle axe is not the best choice).

Power Bomber... ermm... honestly needs a total rebuild to be good, but for now just take things one step at a time.  See if you can get a heavy plow or two as front armor.  That alone will make it 10x as effective.

I don't listen to losers who think I suck I just lower their rep.

You know that if you listen to them then they won't say you suck...

Well there is little doubt that you aren't a good bot builder. I wouldn't call people losers just because they tell you that. I say just try to implement some of their advice and your building will improve dramatically.
Any comments would be appreciated. :D
