It looks even worse than my Sarcophagus

You should totally build a nooby version of that and call it esophagus.
I would, but I can't find a pic.

It's in NAR AI. Earth Element team.

Not the first. Russian Roulette was the first to come with the design 1 year ago, then I (inspired by RR) and Joey did one.

See 7337H and Backyard Grinder in NAR AI.

And I think barrel spinner sounds better than barreler.

Click did the first IIRC, then RR and I made ours seemingly simultaneously as I showcased  mine days after he sent you his for NarAI

but yeah Barrel Spinner gets my vote

Barrel Spinners actually seem like pretty crappy bot types in actuality. They rely solely on wedges, and there weapon is rather exposed in general (weapons only on inside, outside left exposed). Vertical ones seem at a specific disadvantage in terms of the latter.
Any comments would be appreciated. :D

vertical ones are awful as they ruin there own wedges.. Naryars angler one wasnt bad for positioning

also they are crappy because they rely on wedges ? what about pop ups, flippers, etc :P

It is always bad for a spinner, who usually have crappier wedges than most.
Any comments would be appreciated. :D

I lol'ed.

But TBH it just looks like a FS trying hard to be something else. Try 2WD but with a larger stance (and by wider, I mean LARGER). This puts emphasis on why your weapon setup is that way.

Its hard to find new bot types/weapons now.

Only people with low creativity find it hard... true there is less and less new bot types to do, but theorically there is a near-INFINITY of new bot types to create.

Correct. And people seem to like the tried-and-tested bot types, such as popups, because they're probably the most effective bot types at the moment.

Well i've been trying to make more spinners as of lately, aswell as my usual fail hybrids.

Anyway, maybe people just don't want to experiment a bit incase the experiments suck.

Indeed. There probably isn't more than 30-40 efficient bot types in DSL.

the new robots really end up being sub classes of sub classes, etc

the name of a new robot type is normally shot down by many (I have tried many times)
