I bought it because it seemed cool and moddable. I bought it in late late December 2006, and I joined the old forum in January 2007.      The first topic I made was something like this:

"Do I have To Use 3d Studio Max to Mod RA2?"

then Ian005 said something

then ACAMS was like "DON'T POST LIKE THAT"
^he closed the topic
I dont blame him, I would have done same

good times, good times...

I had the game paid for and on order before it came out....BUT, I live way down here in Texas, so by the time I got the game there were already 10-12 players online that had the game for about a week before me.
MAD Scientist was one of the first few on line too, and some guy I have never seen before named Neomyst (sp) and nobody remembers him.....I think he may have been a game developer, because he had awesome bots and then just disapeared.

Bought at a CompUSA probably in 2003, because I loved Battlebots at the time.  Then I took a break for years from the game till I discovered Click's website.  Brought back my interest.

I bought the game about a week after it came out and joined the forums in early '05. I left just in time to miss BBEANS 3, but came back sometime in '06 I think.

really roboshark? I thought you joined in my time, ohwell nice to know

I remember a long while ago I was convinced that RA1 was robot arena 3, I mean the graphics do look sorta better than ra2.   Isnt it that in RA1 your bot couldnt leave the ground?

Im amazed how much the 2 games are different, RA1 Looks some  how a bit futuristic to me

I bought both Ra1 and Ra2 within weeks of them comming out. I joined the official forums in late 06, messed up my computer and came back in the summer 07.

RS, you joined the official forums as R0B0SH4RK like a day after I joined right after bbeans 3 videos were coming out.

I remember scrap daddy, you made me want to play this game again, remember when I disappeared over summer? and then you reminded me of this game over youtube.

I once looked at SD as a semi n00b, not anymore, no way, one of the best bot builders now in my opinion

for some reason I have this weird memory of playing RA2 at my friends house, and in his game, when you were choosing the angle for a baseplate anchor, there were so many different angle to choose from, I also remember him having more available controller spots for the bot.

I discovered the game by chance, I think in 06. I downloaded off the website, played, loved. Didin't get involved in any forums though, and throughout most of summer 07, my internet conked out, so I couldn't. Stopped playing the game for about a year, then I discovered this forum by chance in March this year. This was now on my laptop which I got for xmas, so I downloaded RA2 off a file sharing site, joined the forum, playing, loving.
Good evening.

Put this onto your signature if you were part of this crappy fad in '03.

I pirated it in the beginning but eventually brought it to be able to patch and thus get some downloads working.

I ordered RA2 online before it was released. I got it a few days after the release date. If memory serves right, I had to go to the post office to pick it up for some reason.

I think I joined the old old forums in either 2000 or 2001. I don't really remember.

Chose this over some racing game at my mom's store when I was a kid back in 2005. I messed around with it a little, built some crappy bots. Then looked at the package again sometime in mid-2006 and saw the site link. I lurked for a while, finally making an account in June of 2006. So basically, it was by chance that I joined this community then because I barely chose RA2 over that racing game.
