Another way to avoid AGOD
« on: May 27, 2011, 06:52:57 AM »
Something I often do to avoid AGOD is to just simple not go into the test arena place. By doing this, you don't give the AGOD a chance to settle in until AFTER your 1st match, at this point, AGOD is near-impossible to contract. This method has only failed me once.

If you already knew about it, I'm sorry, I just didn't see many people talking about it. If it doesn't work on your PC, eh, my PC is a screwed up piece of bleguh anyway. Plus, there's always other ways you can avoid AGOD, so try them.

Random fact: I like slight AGOD on my weapons, just so I can see the razors digging into the opponent ;)

It often fails me that method, but I agree. It's less likely to get it.
Better than GK since 2009.
I think SM is a pretty cool guy, eh builds unicycle-bots and doesn't afraid of anything

Axle Glitch Of Death. It's where the polygons of the component don't match where the components are meant to be. It mostly affects wedges, but can also effect anything Snapper or Axle Loaded. Rarely it can be helpful, but most of the time it makes your bot easy to get under, or, in extreme circumstances, render your entire bot worthless, a-like so:
Also, it can be quite annoying to get rid of, as in some cases, you have to click the polygons instead of the actual component, and if you don't know how to see the polygons, you gotta scrap an entire bot.

Ah. Since I don't Snapper or Axle Load, I don't really have an issue with it anyway then?

It depends how the game 'feels'. It's all down to how much processor and CPU you're giving the game and all sorts of technical shish-kebabs. It can target anything it 'feels' like. But, you can use it your advantage, in the form of glitching the axle off. I forgot the scientific name, but I'm sure somebody's gonna leap in and say something about it's real name (Is it snapper loading? Effemme?) and perhaps offer a tutorial.

EDIT: It's Axle Loading.

There should be a button that says

Pause
_____

Break

at the top right.

If you press Pause just before you go into a match, then it eliminated AGOD. But also screws up any axles/bursts that your bot has. I find using the pause button to attach stuff during eFFeing helps a lot, and also during Snapper Loading. It's not completely foolproof, though, you still get AGOD from time to time, but nowhere near as violent as if you don't use Pause.

I tend to export a bot before I attatch any wedges, because my games seem to love AGODing them.
It doesn't prevent it, but it saves some frustration.
