and you say hes mean. hmmm.

Psycolone. I'd vote Inf but he'd probably ban me on his first day.

Pysc would ban you before I did. But youra dipwad and you dont understand when to just hush up when you have no say in something that someone with more experience could provide better feedback instead of you going off and saying something completely irrelevant or wrong.

S32: This is NOT the thread to nominate people, this is a thread to discuss the bad post quality. It might not even happen. And, you are wrong about Inf, he would ban me too, and every newbie that comes to the site.

I've seen hope in you, dont make me change my mind.

Honestly I dont know who i'd suggest as a moderator, considering Pysc and myself use some pretty harsh words.

I agree totally with goose... I especially thought that it was annoying for someone (not calling out anyone) to create an "I need help!" thread and then 30 minuites later, post that they fixed the problem themselves. Something has to be done.

sorry.:-(

Somehow I can totally see this turn into something very e-political very fast judging by what has happened in this thread so far.....

But Goose I can totally understand where you are coming from with this. I have seen a downfall in posting quality myself in the past few months alone, and there have been far too many unnecessary flame wars going on. I don't know if a new moderator would help this problem, but I think everybody that reads this should definitely think about their posting habits and how they could change for the better. Things like Infinite's summer Magic and things of that nature have all been taken very heavily off course because of fighting about things that have nothing to do with it. That project could have probably been close to finished by now if it wasn't for such distractions.

For once the mods did something right

Thread was derailed on page on, PAGE ONE.

It's nice the forum isnt as strict anymore, so you know where people actually post now.

The Forums have not been strict for quite a while (Since ACAMS took over as head admin). I dont quite understand what you are talking about DEX.

there are  just a few members that seem to post off topic.  We will take care of them.

I was talking about the old forum, and how nobody posted really. And when we switched over to this forum there was a sudden boom a new members and activity.

For one, I just don't see the point in many of these posts being made. I try to keep my posts to a high-standard, and only post where I feel it is necessary to post. Personally, in my opinion, if (I'm sure I've said this before somewhere else before) everybody just went back to "please" and "thank you" trolling and flaming, etc. would sharply decrease.

Respect in general is something this forum seems to be lacking. Respect for modders, tourney hosts, and noobs is mostly a distant memory, but what suprises me is some of the lack of respect for the veterans that has been shown. These guys, like, Pys and Inf have continually raised the bar and given the next generation something to strive for in terms of building. Without players like them, I guarantee that this community, no matter how small it may be, would have died long ago. And in my time here at GTM, I have not seen respect go towards them at all.

Respect is a two way thing, that, as I have seen, in the forum setting must initiate from the new member. When you join, nobody knows who you are, what you can do, and what you're willing to do. You cannot just demand respect right when you waltz in. It just dosen't work like that. Respect the vets, and they in turn will respect you.

What many noobs don't realize is that there is a very strong heirarchy here based on skill. Not grammar, attitude, or friendliness, but pure skill. It has been so deeply ingrained in RA2's culture, that any noob that casually strolls in and goes against this notion, purposely or otherwise, looks heretic. What we as the community have to understand, is that they don't understand until it is spelled right out for them.

And for all of us, we must remember that this is the internet. Things in writing almost never are understood they way they are meant to be. It's a very im-personal form of communication. Chances are, if something sort of sounds like a flame, it's not meant to be, so it should just be disregarded, instead of over-reacted to. No one here should let themselves be easily provoked. Take the high road. I think that if everybody did that, we'd see much less flaming which makes up, as sad as it may be, a good portion of the forum's posts.

Amen to R0B0SH4RK. Theres not one builder who I am now friends with who I did not once criticize, except for k343 because I ''Grew Up" in this community with him and Pyscolone because he was the builder whom I idolized.

Ask Sage.

ROBOSH4RK: WOW. That post was perfect!
I completely agree, and I think that all noobs should understand the heirarchy as soon as possible, to avoid flame wars. But, I do think that maybe some of the veterans, such s Psy, Inf, and Sage, might want to try to be a little nicer than they are to some of the new members. The forums would be fine without them being nicer, (and it is amazing when you think about their contribution to the game and the forums) I am just saying that it might help. And there are way too many flame wars.

We're working on it....
Input is appreciated. :)
-Arrogance is a quantity devoid of quality...
-As a client once told me "This is my story, and it's sticking to me!"
-Relationships these days are like the 'Arrival' section of the airport: a lot of baggage is being revealed in one place, and not a lot of it is being correlated to its real owners...
