if anyone is interested, this is what i think they should put in the new DSL pack.
Robots:
Bigger Brother
Mighty Mouse
Sgt Bash
Dead Metal
Mr Psycho
Cassius Chrome
Ref Bot
Terrorhurtz
Kronic
M2
Turbulance

Arenas:
Roaming Robots
Antweight Arena
MMM arena
Robot Wars 1-2 arenas
Robotica FTTF arena
House arena (battle in a house, so you can trash it!)

There's also a tutorial (or 2) about decompiling, understanding, editting and recompiling GMF files. GMFs are about 50% of modding arenas. It's not very hard, and it's the same files used to make components, weapons, motors... :-D.

(The other 50% is python coding. If you learn and do the gmf work, I and others here will help you with the Python work.)

I started making the Fight to the finish arena a while back but stoped working on it for reasons unknown.

And, which tutorial should i go to if i want to edit an arena?
And looking on there, i also want to know how to reskin components, and how to tweak the charicteristics of a component.
So that i can have a small c02 canister that has more gas than a bot fulled with canisters.
So, yes i will try them.
Just, which one for the arena?

Reskinning components is extremely simple. But not for all, because some have their colors coded on the written code.

You go into the Robot Arena 2/Components/(insert component folder name here)/Maps and you have a nice .BMP (or .TGA) file to mess with.

TGA's are harder to mess with than BMP's, but your component's main skin must be a 48ko 128x128 BMP or TGA, depending of the component (discs have .TGA format because of the transparent layer needed to skin a circular component, but saws aren't like that, strangely)

But, if you tweak a small CO2 tank to contain more gas for the same weight, this is considered as a custom component, so cheating.

You can also stack CO2 tanks (at least small ones) and not get a huge chassis.

You're have to download the GMF compiler to gain access into the file. The site is clean, NP.

I made a start on it, but its just a lot of blah-blah to me!
And i opened the arena.gmf file in it, and it seemed to me there was nothing there to help me add a pit!

second, making an arena is no easy work. you can't learn this in several hours.

ask some modders, madiaba perhaps.

Yes you could. Build a bot that can BREAK THE SOUND BARRIER OMGWTF !!!!!11one. Though considering most of the disk parts for DSL are ever so slightly off balance this could be dificult.

This would basically dislocate the bot.

Or make him an helicopter if the bot is tough enough (perhaps all the metallic parts in tungsten alloy... no, no, the bot would be three times heavier) and the weapon well cut.

This just gave me an idea to make a helicopter replica for the BotM. But I still think Enola Gay will be better.
