Tried all suggestions on the page to no avail... It's so strange it can work so fine in some places, even the test arena in the botlab works! My processor is an AMD Athlon(tm) II P340 Dual-Core Processor 2.20GHz if that's of any help? Really want to play this game again but I might just have to accept it's not going to work.

I have heard of issues with some processors being too good for certain older or less intensive games and causing lag, but never with RA2.

It could also be a graphics card issue. I recall some ATI cards not wanting to run RA2 well. There have also been a few certain nVidia cards that cause graphical glitches galore, I believe.

Do you know what graphics card your laptop uses?

I think it's an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 as that's the only thing I can find that looks a bit like it could be a graphics card... It's definitely just an integrated one so probably really crap

It's ok, I found my own... Downloaded fine but with the same problem when started up. I guess it just isn't meant to be

what, you want him to stick around while not doing anything RA2-related and have him become yet another off-topic dweller?

i would try firing up RA2 on another computer. sometimes one comp will have a problem playing RA while the problem is nonexistent on another comp even when using the same copy of robot arena. its worth a shot.

I love how you just assume he owns or even has access to other computers. Not everyone has that luxury.

if he doesnt have another comp to try it on he doesnt try it, obviously. i dont think he has told us if he has another comp, so you dont really know

Because that was the CD version. If the CD version worked for him, why not just use that again?

Because that was the CD version. If the CD version worked for him, why not just use that again?

I'm pretty sure the download here and the CD version are the same thing :V
